My Experience

I am a very enthusiastic, conscientious, and self-motivated boarding house parent with many years of experience in pastoral care. I consider myself hardworking and interpersonal. I am the type of person that does not stop until the job is complete. I have just completed a diploma in strategic management and I am continuing to complete an executive MBA in Northampton University, this I enables me to gain more skills as I work, the range of study I undertake, securely underpins my knowledge and understanding of pedagogy and pastoral care.
This allows me to transfer many of those learned skills into different situations including; small group work, one to one meetings and parental support.
I completely understand that the well-being of a child is fundamental in encouraging them to attain academically and socially. I have studied and dealt with a variety of barriers to learning, and always offer support to students, parents and staff to ensure we work collaboratively as a team.
I currently work with the year 5 to 11 and have previously worked with key stage 3 and 4 students very closely, many who have displayed a range of challenging behaviours including ADHD, BESD, ODD and Asperger's as well as able, gifted and talented. I strongly believe that this positive working practice has given me the relevant experience and professional development needed to be successful.
I have been the first point of contact for parents in my last two roles, and realise the importance of maintaining strong communication links with them. I am aware of the need for confidentiality and safeguarding procedures according to the various policies.
I would welcome the opportunity to work in a new and successful environment where I can enjoy and offer a positive impact on young people.
