About Me

I am an early years practitioner, I have worked in two nursery settings. the first setting i worked for I started with level 2 childcare, I furthered my learning and understanding of early years eduction by successfully completing an advance level apprenticeship in the children and young peoples workforce: early years educator.
I currently part own a cleaning business that I have successfully ran for 4 years, and now have staff that clean with me. I like to be organised, I enjoy working with others and also strive to ensure that the people I work alongside are happy and comfortable working with me. I have learnt how to provide guidance to others and also enjoy learning knew things. Getting along with the people I work with is important to me. Being reasonable, understanding of others feeling and discussing grievances in an appropriate mannor all contribute to this.
I love working with children with additional needs and have an understanding of autism, I have working with children that have shown signs of being on the spectrum. I also have a family member diagonsed with autism. I dont have any training in addtional needs but I do have a passion for it. I have taken part in a autism awareness workshop.
A setting I have worked in had a high number of EAL children, I understand how to work with children that may never have spoke english before, we would encourage communication with EAL children by using makaton in their daily routine and vistuals, to relieve the pressure of the children having to speak but also help the children understand what is happening what we are going to be doing in the day and that they feel safe/comfortable.
