My Summary
About Me
Hello! My name is Caroline, I am an OFSTED Registered Childminder and have been working with children of all ages for 32 years; as a Registered Nurse for the Special Care Baby Unit for 11 years & as a Childminder for 21 years.
I am moving down to my childhood home in Postling in October, and will be continuing my work as a Childminder from here. I am well established within the local areas and have a great knowledge of Kent and local areas.
We have home schooled throughout COVID, which has helped us develop routine and fine-tune educational skills. This is now continued with the little ones who are in the nursery. I find it very rewarding and love the mix of ages and skills of children in our care. We try to keep a home feel, which is important especially these days, whilst teaching at the same time.
I have experience in breast & bottle-fed babies and all dietary needs. 2 of my own children have severe nut allergies and being a registered nurse helped me know how to care for them as they grew up, which I now take into my role with other children.
In the school holidays we love going on walks in nature, trips to the beach, days out in London/Canterbury, as well as enjoying time playing together and doing homework.
I am also trained & offer Reiki to those who would benefit from it or be interested in it.
As a household, I have a partner, four grown children of my own aged between 22 and 31, a grandson who just turned one, and 4 cats and a snake! We are a very happy and bubbly household and a close knit unit! I love children and have dedicated my entire life and career to their care and happiness.
We can’t wait to meet you!
My Experience
I have 32 years experience working with children, prior to becoming a childminder I worked for the NHS in special baby care unit (SCBU). I trained at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOS) before specialising in baby care. I left nursing to work as a childminder 21 years ago and have been working as a childminder ever since! I have experience caring for children with medical issues including; severe allergies, dietary disorders, and gastrointestinal disorders. As such I am happy to give medications where needed to children.
Additionally, I have a lot of experience working with children with ADHD, ASD, and some other developmental and learning disorders. My partner, Malcolm, works with me full time as a childminding assistant. We offer home from home care, help with homework, reading and all forms of learning alongside play. It is important to create an environment that fosters learning in a positive and fun way, this helps children to build a good relationship with learning in all it's forms.
I continually attend refresher courses for First Aid and other relevant educational courses, such as safeguarding.

Caroline and Malcolm offer a safe, welcoming and caring environment for children the thrive in. They have a perfect balance of professionalism and fun that worked for my family. Caroline is highly experienced and gave me every confidence that my child would be kept safe, engaged and encouraged in terms of his social and emotional wellbeing, as well as working on preschool work. They foster an environment that allows children to play freely but also have a routine that means they understand how the day will go and lessen any anxiety (my child had this to begin with) I recommend Caroline and Malcolm, not only are they amazing but the setting itself is gorgeous and they are given the opportunity for inside and outside play.
Caroline and her husband Malcom are a lovely duo for the kids. My daughter has such a fun time playing in the garden, listening to nursery rhymes. Along with learning new skills.
She always comes home with a smile on her face. Caroline listens to my requests and allows my daughter’s routine to change with age.
My son has been in the wonderful care of Caroline and Malcolm since December 2022 and I couldn't recommend them highly enough.
I work shifts and have had to drop my son off as early as 6am at times and he's always greeted with a warm play room and a smile.
My son is autistic and non verbal. He has limited awareness of personal safety and is a high risk of absconding. Not only have Caroline and Malcolm always kept him safe, they've been instrumental in his (rather challenging) potty training, while encouraging him to learn appropriate boundaries and try new things.
They have a beautiful play room and dining area, fully equipped with toys, books and activities. They spend a lot of time outside in the garden and taking walks when the weather is nice.
My son has come on in leaps and bounds since in Caroline's care and she's even helped with the skills needed to prepare him for school in September. She has helped me to liaise with various agencies to get the support my son needs moving forward.
My son is always happy to go to Caroline's, it really does seem like a home from home for him. Despite their busy schedule, they always find time to offer feedback about his days during drop offs/pick ups.
You can tell they genuinely care deeply about the safety, wellbeing and development of all the children in their care.
I'm so grateful for Caroline and Malcolm and will never forget the support they've given my son.
My now 8month old has been with Caroline part-time for his first two weeks since both Caroline and ourselves have moved near Hythe, Kent.
She has been great so far. During the first week I was kept informed with the odd photo or message which kept me at ease. My son's routine has been respected which I was worried about before meeting Caroline in the summer and he is always happy and cheery when I go to pick him up.
So far so good and I have no plans to have him anywhere else.
The distance we drive to get to her village is 100% worth it!
Caroline was able to help me out with emergency childcare at short notice for my 7month old baby. I have only left him for a few hours at crèche before, and she was brilliant about telling me what I needed to give to her and reassuring me throughout the day.
Thanks so much again!
