My daughter was originally in nursery but i found she was not really taken care of or given the attention and time a toddler needs to learn and thrive. Upon meeting Maja and visiting the setting i just knew this was the place where i wanted my daughter to be. I have now been with Maja for three years and she is the only person i trust outside of family! the care that is taken to understand each Childs needs is second to none. Knowing that my child only eats halal or vegetarian, Maja has gone out of her way to make my daughter feel part of the group. As an example by adding items to her menu that she wouldn't normally serve, when ham sandwiches are on the menu my daughter is served the vegetarian alternative so she never feels left out. the fact that i never expected Maja and her team to got this far and would have been happy with cheese sandwiches is a testament to how committed Maja is to being an excellent childcare provider.
Even though my daughter is now at school I have kept Maja for holiday care and the age appropriate activities are visible when when my daughters doesn't want to come home at the end of each day and is actually tired! The setting itself is wonderful and feels like home to home where children are not just tied to a room in a house but have access to various parts including a beautiful garden that is well equipped.
I have at times had to call Maja on the morning that i need care and she is always accommodating and you can see the love and care she gives to each child so If you are looking for care that is definitely specialized i would recommend Maja without hesitation.

I can’t recommend Maya enough. Since my daughter started at Maya’s settings she is so so happy. Maya provides a very high quality of care for our children and her staff is amazing. The children have a variety of different fun and educational activities every day as well as arts and crafts and outdoor fun. Since my daughter started at Maya’s she has built her confidence and self esteem very quickly which helped her making many friends within the settings and away. As a mum I can’t be happier to see my child’s need been met and receive all the support she needs. She can’t wait in the mornings to go Maya’s and on pick up she always tells me how her day was with a big excitement in her voice.
My daughter also loves Maya’s menu. It is different every day and it includes rich options of fruits and healthy snacks.
Thank you Maya and your team for the fantastic work and for the great care you provide for our children.

Our daughter has been in Majas care for the last two years and I honestly don't know what I would have done without her. She is so welcoming and caring and from the very beginning our daughter has been so happy attending maja's setting.
Picking childcare is a huge decision but I have been so pleased. I don't worry about my daughter as I feel and I know she is in good hands. She is getting good food, a variety of activities, in a beautiful clean and spacious setting. I get daily reports on food and photos and videos and I love getting the updates. The food is varied and nutritional. Maja also completes progress reports and talks to me about my daughters development, behaviours and preferences whilst at the setting.
I trust Maja and more recently she has grown her team and they are all lovely. Caring, friendly and genuinely interested in the wellbeing of the children. Maja is always pleasant, welcoming and helps me through different development stages, for example she was very supportive when it came to potty training.
I feel lucky to have been able to access Majas childcare services and I would highly recommend the setting. There is no greater feeling than knowing your child is well cared for, safe and secure whilst they are not in your care and I'm very grateful I have had that since having to return to work.

Maja originally seemed confident in her own abilities, and convinced us that our child would settle fine with her. It was a small setting with one assistant (meaning 6 children max). By the time my child started she had employed two more assistants without telling us. The setting itself is lovely but a setting alone does not make good childcare. The staff are the key.
Unfortunately after a few weeks Maja began to show her true colours and lack of professionalism. She called my daughter “stubborn” “diva” and “princess” even when we asked her not to.
Maja’s communication is poor. She text me to let me know she couldn’t look after my daughter rather than calling me. I discovered she was open for everyone else but did not want to care for my child that day due to feeling poorly. I was astounded not to have received a phone call when I needed to rearrange childcare at short notice.
Each day she would tell us that our daughter had had a great day and then suddenly tell us that she cries all morning every day and requested to halve her days. After just 9 weeks in Maja’s care we received a phone call out of the blue to tell us that she would no longer look after our child. When I queried this (because in all the photos she looks happy and at all of our pick ups she received good reports) Maja told me “I can make her happy but it takes ALL my effort”. Not what I want to hear from the woman I am paying to take care of my child. I expect effort at the very least.
My daughter got severe nappy rash on day 1 of being in Maja’s care (screaming in pain and bleeding). This rash continued until she stopped attending. A week without Maja has worked wonders. She would only change her nappy twice a day - even when I specifically asked to have it changed more often due to the nappy rash.
The food Maja serves is not very healthy. My daughter came home each day smelling of chocolate. I discovered this was her pudding - “a chocolate sandwich”. She was also given a sugary cupcake at teatime resulting in a hyperactive baby in the evening. I did not give permission for this and it wasn’t asked for either.
I am devastated at the treatment of my daughter by Maja and her team. I am writing this review in the hope that no one else suffers this. I believe the biggest reason for the failure of our placement is down to Maja’s lack of understanding about what is developmentally appropriate. She would be annoyed that my 16 month old wouldn’t join the 3 year olds with their painting activities and complain that my daughter wanted to go somewhere quiet rather than being child-led and nurturing and listened to her needs.
Many of the children at Maja’s appear happy but I could not recommend her, especially not for young toddlers or babies. She doesn’t have the knowledge, understanding or capability to care for these young children.

Response by St Pauls Childcare on 19/03/2021:
The health and safety of the children in my care is my top priority. Children are checked and changed regularly, partake in age appropriate activities and are provided with three healthy meals a day along with healthy snacks. All meals and snacks are shared daily with all parents and if there are any issues I am always happy to receive feedback and adapt the foods I provide. I ensure that food is healthy, nutritional and well balanced.
Parents receive regular updates with daily photos and one to one reviews. Sometimes, very rarely, a child may find it difficult to settle in a childcare setting and struggle to be detached from their parents and difficult decisions are made to suggest that another, in this case, smaller setting would suit the child better. I do all I can to support children settling into the setting, as do my staff. I ensure that children are happy and thriving in my setting and this means taking a holistic view of what is right for all children. I will always act in the best interests of the children and prioritise their happiness and needs.
It is unfortunate and saddening to receive negative views on a public forum in the form of a review as I believe good communication and an open dialogue is the best way to identify and resolve issues. I do however understand that it can be a difficult time and that is why I work so very hard to provide a safe and comfortable environment for the children in my care.
I cannot recommend Maja enough.
My little boy started when he turned 1, I was a little worried understandably, but after speaking to Maja beforehand I was completely confident he would love it. We have had no tears, he is always excited to go to Maja's with his friends, sometimes he doesn't want to go home after.
It really is a home from home, they are all looked after so well, Maja also uses my somewhat unconventional cloth nappies and wipes without any problems.
There is always plenty of activities and playing, we get pictures of what they've been up to.
They get amazing food, they eat better than me. My very hungry boy is always full from his homemade dinners.
Maja is also really helpful and has given me some great advice on all sorts of things.
Highly recommended!
Thankyou Maja!
