Hi, im Stevie.
I work from my home in Leyland. I'm a Ofsted registered childminder.
I am married and I have a little boy who’s is 7 years old and daughter who is 17 years old.
I have two assistants that are in as and when needed, one is my husband Tom who has experience in special needs and we work together daily and my mum Corinna who comes in as and when needed. Both assistants have all up to date training and dbs papers.
I am extremely passionate about providing the children in my care with a wealth of experiences that will aid their learning and development.
These include home based activities; for example:
* Playing in the garden (slides, house, sandpit, water tray, scooters/trikes, nature area, digging area)
* Construction work bench, Lego blocks
* Interactive toys e.g. walkie talkies, remote controlled dog
* House/Shop role-play resources
* Mark making resources - e.g. white board/chalk board, painting
* A wide variety of books and jigsaws
* Trains and track, cars and garage, airport and space rocket.
* Musical instruments and puppets
* Dolls and prams
* Dressing up role-play
* Arts and crafts
* Messy play - e.g. play-doh, foam, gloop, paint, glitter dough etc.
* Cooking and food tasting.
I will also be taking the children on various outings to the local shops, library, local park to play and feed the ducks. I feel it is important to explore our outdoor environment and I will undertake some simple forest walks looking at the habitats and environment. I will also take the children on some trips to visit farms, zoo's, the beach, swimming baths and many more!
I also accept government funding for 2/3 year old and 3/4 year olds ( there is an additional charge for food, nappies, places that aren’t free and hours not included in the funding as these things are not covered by funding.) I'm signed up for work based vouchers , Tax free childcare and I'm happy to be paid this way.
My Experience
I have been a childminder for 6 years, before this I worked for a private nursery for sixteen years.
I am experienced working with children from birth to 11 years.
I have also gained some invaluable experience during this time of working with children who also have additional needs.
I have personal experiences of being around lots of children and looking after my own children as well.
My Qualifications
I am Ofsted registered, I have been DBS cleared and also Paediatric First Aid Trained as well as training to work with Diabetic children and also Anaphylaxis. I holds a Level 3 Childcare qualification, has a level 2 in safeguarding and a level 2 in food hygiene.
Im also a fully accredited member of PACEY and I have got public liability insurance.
My Availability
I work Monday to Friday from 8am to 5.30pm if needed. I close during the year, Christmas, one week at Easter, one week in Oct half term and two one week blocks in the summer holidays. See below for the spaces I have available:

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.00 per hour
My fee's are as follows:
0-4 years full day £39.00 per day
0-4 years am 8-12.30 £19.00
0-4 years pm 13.00-17.30 £19.00.
4-11 years (before school 08.00 am to school start) - £7.50
4-11 years (after school - school finish to 17.30 if need) - £12.50 (includes snack tea)
Holiday care - 09.00-17:30 if needed. (reception to year 6) £30.00 full day.
My working hours can be flexible for NHS staff that are on duty as I know personally how hard fitting childcare around those kind of hours can be.
In some situations I may offer sibling discount but this isn’t a guarantee, this will be discussed at the visit.
All fee's include:
* Meals, drinks and snacks
* Nappies and wipes for those using them.
* All outings ie park, Zoo, Blackpool and activities
* Birthday party ( cake, gift and goodie bag over 18 months)
* celebrations for Halloween, Easter and many others.
* Christmas party, Santa trip, gift.

- I provide drop offs and pick ups at Leyland St Andrew's Church of England Infant School
- I provide drop offs and pick ups at Woodlea Junior School

I have 2 daughters aged 5 & 4. My eldest started school last year and would not settle in her before and after school setting no matter what we tried. After 9 months I seen Stevie advertising that she was accepting new children before and after school starting the following school year. I got in touch with Stevie straight away. We then met and I explained what was happening with my eldest and how unhappy she was. Stevie then agreed to take both girls straight away instead of waiting for the next school year to start!! Both my girls settled straight away, they were so much happier! Even though my youngest (who was in preschool at the time) never showed that she was unhappy in their childcare setting- the difference that was shown on her when she started at Stevie’s was undeniable.
Stevie has a patience of a Saint! She knows how to speak to each child as an individual and knows their personalities in and out.
They have now been with Stevie before & after school for over 6 months, it has been the best decision for my girls and we will never look back.
I now even get told off by my girls if I pick them up too many times from school as they haven’t been able to go to Stevie’s!
I 100% recommend Stevie for childcare and trust her with my children completely.

Stevie has been looking after 2 of my children since 2018.
After learning that Stevie had set up her own childminding service and have known her from her previous job (and caring for my oldest 2), I knew the standard of care would be exceptional. I moved my 3rd child to Stevie until he progressed onto Primary life. Stevie ensured the transition was a smooth one for him and went above and beyond.
My youngest has been attending Stevie's since being 4 months of age, he is now nearly 4. As he has got older we have noticed certain traits which all point to him being on the autistic spectrum. I know I wouldn't feel this confident about our challenges ahead without Stevie's support. She communicates with us very well and is a massive support to our family. I'm not sure how we are going to manage in September when my son goes to Primary school!!
I know that all my son's needs, additional or not, are being met. Whether that be from the setting, to the free play, to the structured 'lessons'. Stevie provides routine to my son's life, and to mine.

Thank you so much for the kind words, it’s been a total pleasure and I’m definitely going to miss little man when he starts school but he will be amazing 🤩
Our son has been with Stevie full time since September last year and he is incredibly happy with her. Stevie helped him to settle in before September, by allowing him to attend for a few hours on set days throughout the months of July and August. This was invaluable because it meant he could get used to her and she could learn all about him! He settled in well and now in the mornings he quickly forgets all about us! Stevie has taken our son on countless trips including: the transport museum, cafes (before the pandemic stopped it), Worden Park and McDonalds. At Christmas he came home with loads of crafts that he had done over the previous month and Stevie generously provided him with a Christmas Eve box and present. He also does baking most weeks and can come home with very interesting creations such as ready salted crisps coated in chocolate! (A new one to me!) We are very happy leaving him with Stevie and would highly recommend her to others.

My little girl started at Stevie’s back in January going 1 days a week. We had a bad experience with a previous childminder so finding somewhere we felt comfortable was going to be a hard job. As soon as we got to Stevie’s we knew the LO would love it there. She has fitted in really well and looks forward to going each week. Her speech and movement have come such a long way since starting and she learns new things each time she goes. I have 100% trust in Stevie and her mum that they look after her and do an amazing job.

I can highly recommend Stevie as a childminder.
I was very unsure about leaving my son with anyone but myself when I had to go back to work. As soon as my son met Stevie in her home you could tell how comfortable he felt. He had a few taster hours to see how it would work until he went 3 full days a week. Hes now been there 7 months and he is just like one of the family. He loves being with Stevie and is so happy and content which puts my mind at ease every time I leave him. Stevie is also great at helping me if I have any concerns or questions about things. She is also very accommodating when Ive needed extra days (as long as shes had the space).
My son has definately come out of his shell while being there and this is down to Stevie and her Mum who also helps out. He loves them to pieces and also Stevies son.
I would definatley recommend anyone to use Stevies Little Rockets.
