My Experience
I am currently working as a Spanish teacher and studying a master's degree. I am available to work on an ad hoc basis, weekends, babysittings and over school holidays.
Energetic, passionate and very patient male nanny. Some of my responsibilities in previous jobs:
-Picking up and dropping off an eight-year-old boy from and at school.
-Preparing healthy, variety and appetizing meals and snacks.
-Babysitting.
-Homework / homeschooling.
-Housekeeping.
Additionally, I am a qualified PE teacher - QTS certified and DBS checked. I have relevant work experience from my current employment as a class teacher. I have also coached a group of Year 3 boys in football every Saturday since January 2017. I worked as a supply teacher in Spain, supporting secondary-age pupils. During my time as a supply teacher, a few of my responsibilities included supporting extra-curricular activities, using information and communication technology for teaching and learning, and aiding with core subjects such as mathematics and sciences.
In 2017 I volunteered and worked for a variety of institutions:
-Kingsgate community centre - delivered workshops to children aged 8-14, prepared outdoor activities and supported the youth coordinator.
- IntoUniversity Brent- supported children aged 8-14 in subjects such as Mathematics, Spanish, English, Art, Computing.
-CCLS English school, as a receptionist - scheduling appointments, marketing, finances department.
-Kilburn Grange School, as a TA - assisted the main teacher in Reception and year 1, supporting children aged 4-6 in the different areas of the curriculum such as Understanding the world, Physical development and the learning of phonics.
-British family, as a live-in manny - looked after an eight-year-old boy, preparing meals and snacks; taking him to school and different outdoor activities, swimming, skateparks; babysitting; housekeeping; playdates and sleepovers, collecting him from school by car; teaching him football skills and lego skills as well as our "trips" to Hampstead Heath by bicycle where we would always climb and play in a natural environment.
In 2018, I took care of an 11 year old boy, who had Tourette syndrome, for three months. Then, I looked after a 14 year old boy for 5 months, both roles on a sole care as parents worked out of the city or sometimes abroad. While I took care of the older boy, I was working as a nursery teacher in a nearby nursery in Cuckfield.
As a teacher, I know the importance of an eco-friendly environment for children as well as how essential the nutrition and nurture of children have to be. I love cooking and music, however, my passion is studying about neuroscience, emotions and feelings are very important in the childhood and how children deal with it are crucial.
A big fan of Montessori schools and Waldorf schools, however, my philosophy is not just the use of one method but the mix of different strategies and methods according to the child and the context. Very patient with children, I have grown up in a very big family, with almost 30 first cousins. I come from a traditional and natural background where I grew up playing traditional games in the forest, on the beach and participating in competitions which used to take place in my neighbourhood once a year - kind of fun fair.
I have worked as a class teacher over the last two years in a primary school in the UK.
My Qualifications
Languages: English, Spanish, basic level of French and in love with the Italian language.
I have qualified teacher status, specialising in Physical Education. Additionally, I have a level 3 award in Education and Training and I am to start a master's degree in language teaching and learning using technology.
