About Me
My name is Michelle Brown.
I have been married for 37yrs, I have 2 children, aged 29 and 27. I have always lived in the Great Barr area, and always worked in childcare.
My Experience
I have recently been inspected, and graded Outstanding.
I have been a Childminder for 36 years, having worked in a Day Nursery before that. I have cared for numerous families over time, and believe I am approachable, flexible and accommodating. I keep up to date with all current training, and I'm happy to widen my knowledge and training if you have a specific requirement. I AM ABLE TO OFFER THE FREE 15/30 HOURS TO ALL ELIGIBLE FAMILIES - 9 MONTH, 2 & 3 YR OLDS.
I specialise in 0-5’s, so my setting is aimed at this age group. I have a dedicated playroom, stocked with fun, educational resources which help me to offer stimulating experiences to children, whilst they’re having fun learning and socialising.
I go out daily, visiting local parks/woodlands/library sessions/playgroup/craft sessions.
I don’t do school runs, so my day can be structured around younger children’s routines, and they don’t have to be disturbed from naps or activities to fetch older children throughout the day.
PLEASE NOTE I only care for under 5's, so am UNAVAILABLE for school runs.

Michelle has been looking after my daughter for a while now. I can honestly say that it has been like leaving my my little girl with a relative. Michelle also looked after my son too. She genuinely loves kids and enjoys looking after them so much. My daughter has just turned 3 and Michelle continues to help her development and I'm sure when she leaves Michelle's setting for school she will settle in no problem. Michelle ensures that the children get to interact with other children and are not phased being around larger group settings.

I always feel honoured to be trusted with other people’s children, I do honestly love every minute of my job ( I must really, after 36 years ☺️) and treat the children exactly as I would want my own children to be treated, which usually means I can some wonderful relationships with the small people that I care for. x
Michelle has been amazing with my Son. She is attentive, caring and accomodating to all of our requests. My son absolutely loves her and the other children she looks after too.
My son started with Michelle in November 2020 and all around us lockdown restrictions had meant that he hadn't really been around any other people or children. We were worried about how he would settle in. But I have to say Michelle made the whole process so easy for us. She has so much experience and is invaluable to us. He settled in so quickly.

Michelle looked after both of my children. After having to find alternative childcare when a family member no longer could have my son. Michelle was able to offer us a place and it was the best decision I ever made.
My son started at 15 months and my daughter when she was 6 months old. Both children loved every single day with Michelle. The different experiences that she offered them were amazing. She helped them to grow and learn in a safe and caring environment. I used to love seeing photos and hearing about all that my children had been doing each day
Nothing was ever too much trouble for Michelle and she would accommodate our needs as a family around work.
She prepared both of my children for school life academically, socially and emotionally.

Trusting someone to look after your 6 month old baby is one of the most daunting prospects as a parent, but Michelle makes this totally smooth and stress free! From the first moment we met her we knew our tiny Dora would be in great hands. 3 years later, and Dora nearly ready to start Reception, we're already suffering from separation anxiety!
Flexible, understanding, kind and loving. Dora has come on leaps and bounds, learning new things every day. We really couldn't wish for a better person to entrust our child with. Wish Michelle would start her own Reception class so Dora could stay with her another year! ?

Michelle has been looking after my son for approximately one and a half years. I immediately felt comfortable with her and the thought of leaving the most important thing to me with her, felt completely natural. Connor is developing so well under her guidance! Amazing childminder!
