About Me
Before I became a registered childminder in 1995 I worked for the NHS in the Finance Department.
I was graded 'Good' by Ofsted in my last inspection in February 2023
(I have always been graded Outstanding or Good in the last 30 years. Outstanding grades were awarded in 2006, 2009 & 2017).
I offer a home from home, warm, caring, friendly environment where children are respected and cherished. Children are encouraged to believe in themselves and know 'I'm happy and I'm ok to be me' and be proud of who they are and their differences.
I have an excellent knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and I follow this to further promote childrens development.
The development, well-being and safety of all children in my care is paramount.
I help children develop the skills to be confident, outgoing, adventurous, curious, polite, considerate, caring and help promote their love for learning.
I teach children to be respectful of themselves, of different people, cultures, disabilities, abilities and feelings etc
I offer educational as well as social experiences.
We often go to play groups, parks, museums, farms etc. This is dependent on the children that day and their abilities, Likes and dislikes.
My husband is registered with Ofsted to be my assistant and to offer another pair of eyes, ears and hands if needed.
I also employ an assistant to help out on 'busy' days in school holidays.
Both of my assistants are safeguarding and paediatric first aid trained and are DBS checked.
I work closely with parents/carers and I also work in partnership with nurseries, schools and healthcare professionals.
My Experience
I have extensive experience of working with children with additional needs, allergies & illnesses including visual impairment, type 1 & type 2 diabetes, autism, aspergers, dyslexia, dyspraxia, global development delay, speech & language delay and various special diets.
I have also cared for children with Medical needs and take professional advice/training when required.
I practice baby/basic sign language with all babies and children with speech difficulties to assist in their communication skills.

My daughter has been coming to Alison for 3 years and I'm absolutely devastated it's time for her to leave as she moves into reception.
Alison is a fantastic childminder who really cares for her children. She works really hard in helping children achieve and has been a significant person in my daughters life to help her grow, teach her important skills and give her a safe happy place to be whilst I work. I can't thank Alison enough for the support over the last 3 years I know Millie is going to miss her and her friends very much. As well as lots of social activities and games, Alison focusses on early years education such as teaching numbers, colours and shapes, she encourages children to share and teaches them important manners and I have to mention the food as she often makes lovely home cooked well balanced meals and they are always well fed!
I would highly recommend Alison as a childminder to everyone, in particular those looking for a home from home setting and for someone who will treat all the children the same and as if they are her own.

It has been my pleasure to care for your daughter over the last 3 years. She will be greatly missed by myself, my family and her friends. Its heartbreaking that she is leaving, but it's time for her to move on and shine in everything she does in her future.

Alison is absolutely amazing and my son wouldn't be where he is now without her. He has medical needs and Alison has been fantastic in meeting these and supporting with them. She is supportive of parents anxieties and worries and goes above and beyond. Alison treats the children as part of the family. She engages the children in fun, interesting activities that meet the needs of all ages in her care. Thank you Alison for everything you do.

Alison has looked after my 3 grandchildren over the last 8 years. Her care is second to none giving my daughter and son no worries when they go to work.
The boys love going to see Alison and she has given them the confidence to be individuals with the skills she has taught them.
Alison had the boys ready for school, not only with academic knowledge but also the social skills required.
I will always be extremely grateful to Alison for giving my family the best of everything she has. Thank you

Alison is an amazing childminder who makes you feel like family the minute you step inside her home. She will keep you up to date with your child’s development and abilities. Alison has always gone above and beyond to care for not only my little girl, but all the other children she cares for. Everyday is a different day in her house and she never fails to keep all children entertained no matter the age. The ages of the children who attend range from infant to teen years and she will always provide a variety of different activities for them all to enjoy. I would recommend Alison’s childminding service to anyone and everyone!

Alison has cared for two of my children over last 10 years (and continues to do so). She really brings the kids along and is excellent at making sure all ages and abilities are entertained and educated. She invests so much time in all her children and offers excellent help and advice when needed. She is trained to a high standard which shows. My kids love her as much as she does them. I am glad my kids have had such a good childminder, i personally prefer this to a nursery setting, and I would definitely recommend her to anyone.
