My Summary
About Me
Exploring options to bring my own child to work with me JUNE 2025 - aged 9 months
Hello :) my name is Ashleigh. I am 32 years old.
I have been working with children for 17 years now and I have loved every single second of it. Over the 13 years of caring for children it has shown me how important it is for them to get the very best out of their childhood, also the importance of having fun and being safe and being a child!
I'm a fun loving person with loads of energy, love the outdoors, I'm a very sociable person and love to meet new people, I enjoy going to the gym, spending time with my friends and family. I enjoy going to the cinema and going for walks. I'm kind, caring, loving, easy to get on with and just a generally happy bubbly person who loves spending time with young children, watching them grow and develop as I find it extremely rewarding.
I have been working in a nursery throughout my whole childcare experiences but I have been a private family nanny since September 2013
I am very creative, love to get messy and have fun, Our activities would consist of practically everything from playing with shaving foam, corn flour, playing in the water and sand trays, feet and hand painting, the children thoroughly loved it. I also love to bake cakes. So there will always be a fresh selection of goodies for you to come home to!!
During the summer months I spend every day in the garden with the children making sure they got plenty of fresh air and enjoyed the environment that surrounds them. Even when its wet and windy I still think its important for the children to get out. So we have the welly boots and wet suits at the ready!
I also believe that is important for children to socialise so I often take them to toddler groups, church play days, playgroups, farms, parks etc. But we also do spend time at home so they can relax too!
I've always had 100% punctuality while being in education and at work, I think its important to be early upon arrival as it gives me a chance to catch up with the parents with any information that needs to be handed over before they shoot off to work!!
I think it's also important that they parents/carers know about everything that goes on throughout the day, so you will receive a handover book at the end of each day with all sorts of information regarding meals, activities, trips and any accidents or medication that has to be administered throughout the day.
I currently care for a boy and a girl but mostly my entire nannying career I have cared for mostly boys so I've seen and heard pretty much everything!
My Experience
I have loads of experience with children as I started babysitting at 13, I then decided to focus my GCSE's on caring for young children, I then spent 4 years working in a nursery in Horley from the age of 15 where I worked in a Baby unit, nursery, pre school & an after school unit
I then moved onto another nursery also in Horley at 19 and where I worked in a toddler unit. I had the opportunity to cover both the baby room and pre school when they needed.
During my college days I had various placements in nurseries and schools, working up to school year 6.
I currently babysit for a few families with children ranging from 3 years - 14!
I have also babysat for babies from 5 months.
In my most recent nursery, I had some fantastic relationships with our parents and I would like to say that they have great confidence in me and my ability to care for their children and ensure that they get the most out of their time at nursery.
I also have twin experience and have been part of a nanny share.
I am currently a nanny for a boy (6) and a girl (8)
My current duties for this family are:
Cooking healthy meals for children
Washing of children's clothes
Keeping children's bedroom and play areas tidy
Keeping food stocks updated
Planning exciting days out

Ashleigh has been our nanny for 7 months, looking after our three boys, aged 8yrs, 6yrs and 2yrs plus a one year old Cockapoo dog. It is a hectic household and Ashleigh had a full time job (54hrs a week) looking after the boys and helping keep the house tidy. Her responsibilities included getting the children prepared for school, doing the school drop off and managing the various pick up times, listening to reading, planning and cooking meals, helping with laundry and bedding as well as keeping a busy schedule for the two year old.
Ashleigh had a firm but fair approach with the boys and took her role seriously, especially when it came to the safety of the children. She was incredibly punctual and was never late once. She was very kind to the boys and is caring by nature. She also understood our desire to return to a tidy house at the end of a busy day!
We would recommend Ashleigh to anyone seeking childcare.
Ashleigh has been our nanny for just over 2 years. She’s looked after my 3 boys since they were 1, 4 and 7. She covered 3 full days a week, in addition to taking care of the children, aher responsibilities included getting the children ready for school, serving breakfast, school drop off and pick ups, helping them complete their homework, preparing lunches and dinners and cleaning and tidying their rooms.
Ashleigh is very caring towards the children which emphasises her love of being around children. She is also firm but fair and has always kept their safety and well-being as the top priority.
I highly recommend Ashleigh for any future role in childcare.
