About Me
ABOUT ME
I I have successfully completed a foundation degree in supporting Teaching and learning with Greenwich University and have now graduated with a Bachelor Degree Honours in childhood studies. From this I have learnt that early intervention and relationships in childhood is very important and can pave the stepping stones towards becoming a competent and happy adult. Which is why I aim to provide the best quality care for your child and to take priority in the environment and activities I provide.
The motivation towards my choice of career stems from raising a family of five boys; the routines and roles that come from of being a parent has developed my understanding of babies, children and their many stages of development. The age range of my children are age 5, age 11 age 16 age 20 and age 25. I am also a grandmother to beautiful little girl who is 3 years of age. I love children and enjoy the nurturing side of parenting; I understand the importance of having a positive bond and a consistent relationship in order for a child to feel comfortable and content in my care.
As a family we fully understanding and appreciate the value of the outdoor environment, we often spend our time enjoying the activities the borough offers and visiting the many excursions. These include visits to Horniman’s museum, libraries, Dulwich Park and Crystal Palace Park as well as Farms, adventure playgrounds, swimming and bike rides. As a firm believer that children learn so much from the outside world, I will be maintaining this as a continued high priority within my childminding business.
I am fortunate to be fully resourced to stimulate and enhance the minds of children of all ages and ability. Preparing them for their future whilst developing their social, emotional and mental wellbeing is a key role i wish to offer. My understanding is that children are natural curious learners and at any age they should be treated with care guidance to enhance and stimulate their development, knowledge and individuality.
The type of day i will be providing will be play days at co childminders, play groups for social development, outdoor learning, visits to the park and library and homely comforts such as cooking, singing, dancing, gardening and playing with toys within my fully resourced playroom. There is plenty of reading and storytelling and lots of talking to stimulate communication and language development. I provide a small setting and work with an assistant on most days and we both ensure high quality in our setting and the provision is warm, stable and most of all fun.
My Experience
I have worked with children for over 25 years starting my career as a SEND administrator then taking the role of and Teaching assistant. Following this I was offered a role as a higher-level teaching assistant which involved many duties of a teacher, teaching English, Math and Literacy to year 7, 8 and 9 boys and monitoring the progress and learning of individuals. I also mentored and tutored children who were currently in foster care offering academic and personal support. following this i worked in a primary school supporting children from reception to year 6 and which involved teaching religious education and citizenship to whole classes.
I have broad range of knowledge ranging from early years education, nursery, reception, key stage 2, right up to Key stage 4 curriculum and even some parts of further education. Special needs and the learning difficulties children face are also some of my expertise. I have studied the development of children and i understand how much a care giver can influences and can enhance their ability to communicate, behave and understand the world. I value the importance of this role and feel passionate and fortunate to have had a lifelong career with children. With my experience, knowledge and passion I believe I will make a brilliant childminder and hope you and your child equally find enjoyment with my service.

My son started with Steph when he was around 10 months old and has recently left to move on to a nursery at 3.5. We have been so impressed with Steph's service the entire time our son has been with her. She was extremely patient with him during his settling in period and he has always been so happy to go every morning. Steph was really supportive through each stage of his development and I always knew that he was happy, safe and stimulated during his time with her. The environment in her home is lovely and well-equipped with a fantastic outside area and the children learn to socialise really well there. We were all sad to say goodbye and would absolutely recommend Steph's provision to anybody.

Steph looked after my daughter and son between the ages of 1 and 3. They always loved going to ‘Steph’s House’ and the older one was always thrilled to go back in the holidays when we needed help with childcare. I was particularly impressed with the facilities and outdoor space, and how much Steph supported us when our children were toilet training. Thanks Steph!

Steph looked after my son from age 1-4 and my daughter from 11 months to age 3. She is wonderful, the children love Steph's house and she is still on hand to help when we need her! Would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a childminder

Steph looked after our son from 12months old through until he was 3+years. She has always been kind, patient and compassionate and our son built such a great bond with her. We had a seamless settling in process with her and she really made us feel at ease, which is so important when you are doing this the first time around.
She has a lovely home with a dedicated play room for the children and a spacious garden for daily outdoor play. She does lots of creative play and activities as well as regular trips to the local park. She provides a loving and caring environment for all of the children and our son would always be so excited to see her. She is great with communication and she has been very supportive through all of the various developmental stages with our son.
Steph is amazing and we would highly recommend her to any parents looking for a caring and reliable childminder.

Steph looked after our son from when he was around 9 months until he was two - we only changed setting then as we moved out of the area. We have only great things to say about her!
The setting itself is great with a dedicated playroom and her garden is full of great outdoor toys. Steph always planned fun and educational activities for the children, and our son was always coming home with pictures, planted flowers and other things he had done while he was there. Steph communicated really well with photos and videos during the day so we knew what he had been getting up to. She also has lots of experience in childcare and child development which really shows and she understood our son so well.
We're missing her already!

Our daughter attended Steph's childcare 4 days a week for 2+ years. We couldn't have been more happy with the level of care and nurturing provided by Steph. We feel incredibly lucky to have had such a wonderful childminder in our neighbourhood. Our daughter always looked forward to going to Steph's house and was extremely happy and settled there for the duration of her attendance.
The children are thoroughly well looked after and always calm and engaged. Steph's communications were always great and the setting itself is brilliant. All of the children are treated like extended family and you could clearly see how much they all love spending time there. Our daughter really benefitted from Steph's nurturing yet educational environment.
We couldn't recommend Steph highly enough!

Steph looked after our little boy from the time he was around one until he was four and ready for school, and we have nothing but great things to say about her!
Throughout the time he was with her, we always trusted Steph as a safe, caring, friendly, knowledgeable childminder. She consistently planned and provided fun and stimulating activities for all the kids, at her home and at local parks, and always provided healthy meals.
Steph's knowledge of child development meant she took a real interest in the kids' language and other developmental milestones and flagged when there were any concerns. She communicated with us often, sending pictures weekly as well as regular newsletters and other information. She always had time for a friendly chat on the doorstep.
My son was always excited to go to Steph's house and was buzzing about the fun things he'd done when he got home. Now he's at school but still often talks about and misses her.
Steph's setting is great too - she has a great playroom and a back garden with lots to play with. Her home is always clean and tidy.
