Hi, I live in a bungalow with my husband Paul in a quite avenue which is near to Audenshaw primary school. It is important to me that the children in my care have a home from home experience and enjoy being with and around me and that I get to know them by interacting and asking them about their likes and dislikes, topics they are following in school, nursery, in their home lives and by talking to their parent/carers. The children and I attend playgroup sessions which allows the children to learn from their play and socialise with other children. We also visit the library visit the local park, go for walk's which in turn enables the children to learn from their outdoor environment experiences.
In my home I have two playrooms which enables the children to have space to move around and to learn and develop through their play and through the activities and resources I provide. One of the rooms leads into a large paved and grassy secured garden.
In my recent Ofsted inspection I achieved OUTSTANDING.
My Experience
I have been in childcare for 20+ years, before going into childcare I studied for 2 years to achieve my N.N.E.B a 2 year course which entailed me to work with children age ranging
0-7yrs, observing their development, next steps, planning activities, differentiating them to their individual needs.
After my studies I gained employment at a primary school working with children in key stage one for 4 years before moving on to working in the foundation stage. While working here I was sponsored by the school to achieve my H.N.D [Higher National Diploma] in early childhood studies and education from this I gained further understanding on working with children, their families and theorist views on children's learning and development. I completed the childminding course in 2007.
I am Ofsted registered and have been a childminder now for 15 years looking after children age ranging from 8mths to 11yrs. I have found it very rewarding sharing the children's interest's, and watching the children grow, learn and develop through their play. I understand the importance of children learning and developing through their play indoors and outdoors.
My Qualifications
NNEB, and HND [Higher National Diploma] Safeguarding, First Aid, Health and Safety in the workplace. Numicon and Phonics in the early years.
My Availability
I work Monday to Friday 7.00am till 5.00pm and 7.00am till 4.30pm.
From September 2024 I will have 2 Early years spaces available for government funded children and for non-funded children.
