My Summary
About Me
Hello, my name is Naomi and I am looking for 2-3 days a week with a friendly family. I am going back to work in January 2024 after having my first baby.
I have been a Nanny for the past 6 years. I am proactive, professional, spontaneous, fair and playful and love to see children using their busy, inquisitive minds. Being outdoorsy I love to take little ones to the park, local zoos, wildlife centres and baby groups.
I find working with children not only extremely rewarding but great fun. I have a firm but fair approach. In previous roles I have formed routines, prepared healthy and appetising meals and engaged children in a fun and safe environment to encourage learning through play.
I am a responsible and enthusiastic person with a happy and fun outlook. I am organised with good time management skills and have a fair and positive approach to discipline, encouraging well-mannered behaviour. I have an easy going attitude making it possible to work alongside individual families and their specific requirements. I am calm and unflappable under pressure and have worked with many families with multiple children.
I offer a happy, safe and secure environment for all children in my care and above all I am kind, patient, nurturing and loving.
Non smoker, clean full UK drivers license and my own car. References and CV available on request.
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile.
My Experience
In September 2016 I moved to NZ, where I lived with a family for 3 weeks to find my feet and care for their 2 and 4 year old sons on their dairy farm. The boys and I had a great time building treehouses, going for bike rides and mucking around on the land.
From there I moved to Queenstown (NZ) to become an aupair for a couple of busy working professionals. The children were 18 months and 7 years when I started. I had an awesome time with this family, choosing to spend a lot of my spare time with them skiing up the mountain or going away camping. My main duties were to care for the younger son as the 7 year old was at school. I would cook dinner for the whole family and take the initiative to ensure the house was up together for the family by the end of the day.
When I returned to the UK I had a temporary Nanny and PA position from January 2018 - August 2018 caring for an 8 year old, full time for 3 days (and nights) a week whilst the parents were away in London.
I moved onto my current family in October 2018 and care for an 18month old, 5 year old and 6 year old. 5 years later and I am still with them! Having worked for them full time over lockdowns and home schooling. Naturally the children are all old enough to be at school now and so this job will come to an end soon.
In October 2021 I picked up another family caring for a 4 month old baby and 6 year old boy. the youngest will be going to nursery when he is 2, which is when I am due to have my own baby! I would like to have my maternity leave and then find a family I can work for upon my return.
From this experience I know that every child is different and no two families are the same. I’ve had the pleasure of working with a wide range of people over the years from different backgrounds which has furthered my understanding of children and given me the opportunity to learn and adapt to different parenting styles.
I have worked with children with strict food allergies and dietary requirements and I have a good knowledge and understanding of children's health and nutrition. I hold many great references from parents I still remain close to and who are more than willing to speak to potential new families.
If it's a permanent position or just ad hoc help, please get in touch for an informal chat at any time.
