My Summary
About Me
I am a warm, sensitive and kind individual.
I realise trusting someone to look after the most important people in your life is daunting, but I am here to help and assist as best as possible as a reliable, honest and compassionate person who loves children.
I follow parents instructions to the hilt, supporting them in their daily tasks, supervising and seeing to the child's or childrens' needs. I am able to entertain the children throughout the day. My performing arts experience usually comes in handy when it comes to entertaining the kids (due to my ability to do funny voices and amusing characterisations). I am a strong believer in the importance of play in early childhood development.
I have worked as a freelance nanny and babysitter for seven years and I am confidant in my ability to tend to children's physical, emotional and educational needs.
If you have any questions, you need only ask.
My Experience
I have worked with eight families over the years as a nanny, on top of doing occasional babysitting for other parents. The ages I have looked after span from 3 months to 14 years old. I also do freelance teaching work, where I use drama to teach English for foreign students.
My Qualifications
BA Drama and Performance, University of Highlands and Islands (2015 - 2016)
HND Acting and Performance, Glasgow Kelvin College(2013 - 2015)
NQ Acting and Performance, Stow College (2012 - 2013)

Richard is warm and supportive and helped by taking my 11 year old with autism to school. My son is sensitive and Richard has been warm and reassuring for him.
He is friendly and intelligent as well as being a fantastic and reliable help with Dylan. He is also a lovely person and we had great chats with him.
Richard started looking after our daughter when she was four months old, working up to my return to work full time when she was six months old. I cannot recommend Richard highly enough. He was reliable, warm, empathic, kind and caring. He very quickly formed a solid bond with our daughter and was instrumental in easing my return to work and separation from our little girl. He was very good at coming up with ways to keep her entertained and engaged. Richard always used careful, positive language to support the baby's development with a keen sense of how to build positive self esteem and an appropriate level of independence - with kindness and care. The role ended when it was time for our daughter to go to nursery / as my working hours increased.
Richard looked after our toddler son, after we urgently needed childcare help, as neither my wife not I could stay at home during the day for almost half a year. Richard did a lot while he stayed with our son, as he would change and clean him up in the morning (our son normally got up after Richard arrived in the flat), he'd finish preparing his breakfast and lunch meals and was very effective at having our son finish those meals. Needless to say, he also had to deal with soiled nappies, and after lunch, he took him to the nursery. Richard delighted our son with songs he played and sang, but he also taught him things we hadn't even asked, e.g. how to put on his shoes and how to climb down the stairs. All in all, Richard's help was exactly what we needed!
Richard has looked after my son for a while now - he picks him up from primary school two or three days a week, they go to the park or library, read, play games, have a snack together until we are back from work. He's been really reliable, is kind and patient and my son is really happy spending time with him.
Richard is an excellent babysitter and I would highly recommend him.
He is friendly and very reliable and our 3-year old son loves having him around. He even has all of his food when Richard is with him.
