My Summary
About Me
Hi I am a caring, friendly, outgoing and mature person.I am methodical and like to be organized. I have been working in childcare since 2006 when I retrained to become a Nanny .
I completed the OCN Level 4 Maternity Nurse training and have other relevant childcare qualifications , including Paediatric First Aid.
My own children are 24 ,26 and 32 . I also have a grandson of 5 .
My hobbies include National Trust , History , Scrabble and Zumba. My main passion is reading ,anything from John Grisham to JK Rowling.
I travelled to Nepal in 2013 to spend two weeks with families I had previously worked for and enjoyed my time there.
I am willing to travel throughout the uk .
My Experience
I have worked within 2 private day nurseries and also for my local church playgroup.
I was engaged as Nanny at BMS ,which is a charitable organisation which deals with training individuals for overseas mission from 2010/2015.
My first year here I was employed to care for two babies aged 10 weeks when I began. I worked for two families on a Nanny Share Basis. I would look after the babies whilst moms went to lectures/training . I would take the babies out on a regular basis to the park, nature center and to various Mother and Toddler groups. We would play with musical instruments or just make tents out of blankets . I also took the babies to health visits and doctors appointments.Together with the moms we successfully weaned the babies and got through stages of teething. Sadly the job ended as both sets of parents moved abroad to become missionaries.
I have recently finished working as a Nanny in the same location as my previous position with new families. I looked after 2 children aged 3 and 2 years .We would go on outings to the library , to mother and toddler groups or just play in the garden . I would plan and provide age related activities to enhance their learning and to make their time spent with me fun..
In total I have spent five years working within BMS looking after twelve children (ages between 10weeks to five years ) as their parents train to work in foreign countries as missionaries.
I have also worked as a Night Nanny. I had sole charge of a 4 week old premature baby for 2 nights a week so mom could get some well needed rest . I cared for the baby who was on two hour feeds and helped to get a routine going for mom .That position was temporary for three months.
I have worked in London as a Maternity Nurse helping a first time mother with twins who were born at 32/4... I arrived the day they left hospital after spending five weeks in the neonatal ward.
I assisted with all areas of care , feeding, breastfeeding advice , , medications, laundry, hospital visits and supported mom at this very special ,yet daunting time.
Other work includes twins of six weeks .I spent 7 weeks with this family on a 24/5 basis , including proxy parenting . I was responsible for all areas of care for the twins for 20 hours a day. I worked with them in London , Oxford and helped them move house to Winchester.
I have also worked in Cheshire for a family who had a six week old when I started. I spent four weeks with this family on a 24/5basis where I had sole charge of baby .
I completed an emergency two week booking for a family who had a six week old baby. One of the parents had health issues and I had sole charge of baby whilst parents were at the hospital.
From April until October 2016 I worked In Cheshire for a family with premature triplets . The babies had just left hospital when I started [10 weeks] . I worked on a 24 /5 basis . I was responsible for feeding, changing , bathing, making up bottles , medication, laundry and all night feeds. I attended hospital / doctors appointments with mom and built a good relationship with all members of the family , especially mom as dad worked away . I was employed for 10 weeks but stayed for six months and helped start the weaning process .
From November 6th/December 10th I worked for a family in London with premature twins [ 9 weeks ] after their Maternity Nurse walked out and left them in a mess .
