About Me

Hello, We are Katie & Jonathan a husband and wife team and OFSTED registered childcare providers In Hucknall, Nottingham.

Katie Opened the doors to little Foxes in July 2018 and Jonathan Joined in May 2019. Little Foxes is a 5 star rated childcare provider with many fantastic reviews and recommendations.

We live on a new housing estate in Hucknall with a dedicated playroom and live with our three pets Lexi (Labradoodle), Minnie (Labradoodle) and Ellie (cat) and have a large outdoor area for the children to play.

We are passionate about childcare and encourage learning through play, We enjoy being in the great outdoors, going on picnics, treasure hunts or simply jumping in muddy puddles. The most important part of childcare for us is that the children feel happy, safe, have lots of fun whilst learning and experience new and wonderful experiences of the world around them.

We also believe working closely with parents is paramount and being able to work together to provide consistency for their child's individual needs, We have every 3-month feedback forms that parents complete, A termly newsletter and a private parent page. At Little Foxes we are one big family and will always work together to give the children the best!

Parents are also given access to an online app, This gives you notifications of all information you need, whether it's feeding, wow moments or next steps.( plus much more)

Parents are also involved in any fundraising events and parties, within Little Foxes or our Togetherness project. We support many charities in the area.

At Little Foxes, we encourage children to play with a diverse range of toys, Games, and books.

within the playroom we have separate areas to cover The different areas of learning, This is to maximize the child's full potential and to encourage children to make their own choices.

We also Plan activities, crafts, and games to support their individual development, However also allow free play as this is just as important.

Little Foxes are also working in partnership with a local care home, Little Foxes have a project set up called "Togetherness", Every week we visit, play games, sing songs, feed their chickens, help fold washing/ put washing out and of course interact with the older adults, We even go for lunch - We absolutely love our "Togetherness project"

We also work with the local community of Hucknall and are often involved in community events and other valuable life experiences. We have even been in the paper TWICE!

At Little Foxes, we encourage children to pursue a healthy lifestyle by being active, we have a meal plan each week, However, Sometimes the children can choose for themselves if they don't fancy what is on offer, also we promote healthy eating, Including fresh food and the children will take part in seeing where fresh food comes from, learning and understanding of the cycles of life and growth. we also have a help your self-fruit bowl available and drink station for children to help themselves at any time.

We do also have a Little Fox car, this allow us to venture out on a daily basis and provides us with many learning opportunities and experiences. At Little Foxes, We are forest childcare members this means

We like to be outdoors EVERY SINGLE DAY! WHATEVER THE WEATHER.

We I do drop-offs and Pickups at Butlers Hill and Broomhill school.

We care for all ages of children and our opening hours are 7am-6pm

We are full members of Pacey (Childminder's Association) and Ofsted Registered- With that means we are required to deliver the EYFS (early years foundation stage, exactly the same as nurseries and schools) This ensures that all children develop to their full potential, Not only does this prepare your little ones for school but it is also recognized as the foundation for lifelong learning and all-round growth.
