About Me
My name is Lauren Cocking, I am 33 years old and live in Desborough.
We have lived here since 2013. My husband and I have been blessed with a beautiful daughter who is 11 years old, a lovely little boy who is 7 years old, a 2 year old daughter and our youngest.
We have a love of animals in our house. We have a dogs, a cat and rabbits at the house. We then have two ponies, 9 sheep and numerous chickens on our land not to far away.
I became a childminder as I wanted to work from home so I am always around for my children. We are a military family and my husband is only home on leave and some weekends so I wanted to always be here.
Childminding suited our family as my children love the company and I love having people buzzing around.
The enthusiasm that comes from kids is just such a joy to see.
I am Ofsted registered on the childcare register, this means I am able to take school age children.
I am not currently registered on the Early years registered which is something I may do in time.
I drop off and collect from Loatlands nursery and primary school.
There isn't an awful lot of childminders around who are open to over night care. After speaking with some NHS staff I decided to cater for over night
My Experience
I am a big believer that our job as parents (and childcare provider) is such an important role. Guiding children in the journey of growing up happy and healthy, what could be better?
It is our job to build confidence, to guide children the right way in life and to teach them right from wrong.
Seeing children grow and change all the time is such a lovely position to be in.
We have rules and boundaries, but we have fun.
