About Me
Hello, my name is Amanda and I have been a childminder (OFSTED registered) since 1993.i live with my husband and have 2 grown up children. I work along side my daughter in law, Lucy who has two children of her own.
We aim to provide a friendly, home from home setting, to which myself and lucy enjoys having a close working relationship with the families/parents.
We do picks up and drop offs, school runs to Monkwick Nursery and Infants, as well as Juniors.
We have two insured cars , 5&7 seaters ,which can be used for the children to enjoy outings to various places through out the year. We also enjoy visiting local parks and woodland on foot.
We very much like to promote, a enriched learning enviroment which enhance childrens development through their play. We have various age appropriate toys, games, puzzles, creative media, as well as cooking.
My setting has a good sized enclosed garden with many outdoor toys and equipment. this includes, slides, swings, children's growing garden, mud kitchen, playhouses, football goal etc.
My Experience
I have been child minding since 1993 during which time I have cared for babies through to teenagers and in some cases siblings as well. In September 2012 Lucy joined myself, after working for many years within childcare (Nursery, afterschool clubs) and is also fully qualified with her level 3 in childcare, as I am.
Many of the children we care for come through recommendation from the local schools / nursery and parents.
We have had experience with children that are SEND to which we work closely with parents and schools to support them.
Over the years we have cared for many children, who's families are from all over the world. we love learning and sharing with the children, about their different cultures and beliefs. We like to continue to work closely with the parent to support the children if they are learning English as a additional language as we feel this is key in their development.

I was sceptical about leaving my daughter in the care of someone else but I can honestly say all that changed with Mandy and Lucy. This is a lovely homey setting with excellent areas for the children to play and learn, my daughter is not yet two and she can counts and sings and talks so much.
The children do a wide variety of activities and my little girls gets excited to be attend each week.
Mandy and Lucy are both lovely people with honest and down to earth, great value for money, and definitely worth every penny. I could not recommend them highly enough we are sorry to be leaving but with the reduction of hours I work childcare is no longer required!!
