Hello parents, my name's Lucie,
I am a self employed nanny living in Marlow.
I am very much a children person and love what I do with passion. I made my decision to work in childcare when I started babysitting as a young teenager. It quickly became clear that I had an affinity with children. The feedback and recommendations from families confirmed this and my relationship with the children I worked with progressed to a professional nanny career.
I find working with children not only extremely rewarding but great fun.
I am a responsible and enthusiastic person with a happy and fun outlook.
I am organised with good time management skills and have a fair and positive approach to discipline, encouraging well-mannered behaviour.
I have an easy going attitude making it possible to work alongside individual families and their specific requirements.
I am calm and unflappable under pressure and have worked with many families with multiple children.
I offer a happy, safe and secure environment for all children in my care and above all I am kind, patient, nurturing and loving.
I live with my husband and 2 children who are sometimes around during school holidays. They are 6 and 4.
I am Registered and vetted by various nanny agencies in Buckinghamshire and London.
My Experience
My childcare experience spans 25 years working as a dedicated career nanny.
I've had the pleasure of working around the home counties, London and Europe and no job is too big or too small for me when it comes to caring for children.
I have extensive experience caring for newborns and over the years I have cared for many toddlers and school age children. I apply my skill set to each child accordingly, dependant on their age and personality.
From my years of experience I understand that every child is very different and no two families are the same. I’ve had the privilege of working with a wide range of people over the years from different backgrounds which has furthered my understanding of children and given me the opportunity to learn and adapt to different parenting styles.
I have cared for twins in the past, children with special needs and have also worked in private nurseries and crèches. I have weaned babies and potty trained lots of under 3's.
I have worked with children with strict food allergies and dietary requirements and I have a good knowledge and understanding of children's health and nutrition.
I hold many great references from parents I still remain close to and who are more than willing to speak to potential new families.

My Availability
Sorry, I am unable to help with a
school wrap around service such as morning drop offs or afterschool picks ups.
I am looking for full days with a minimum of around 6 hours, but can be longer.
At present my availability is:

Lucie came to look after our daughter (18month year old) during a period of transition where childcare was a bit tricky with mine and my husband’s work shifts. She was a perfect fit - responsible, engaging and really focused on both our daughter and family’s needs! Our daughter has some medical issues and Lucie made sure she understood and worked with us so we felt she was in safe and secure hands. She also was a complete natural - our daughter warmed to her immediately at the first meeting which is not the norm as she can be quite wary and shy! My daughter has come on leaps and bounds with Lucie’s individual care in terms of her motor and communication skills. I am so happy to have met Lucie as she is just so lovely and could not have been more helpful at a tricky time, and we are sad to not be working with her regularly anymore (purely for logistical reasons but we will definitely be asking for babysitting soon!)

We are incredibly fortunate to have Lucie as our nanny. She has become an irreplaceable part of our family, and we cannot say enough about the love and care she provides for our children. The kids absolutely adore her, and it's easy to see why.
We first started working with Lucie adhoc after my Dad passed suddenly to help with our then 3 year old and 10 month old. We soon realised that we needed Lucie on a much more permanent basis. We would have not been able to get through the last 2 years without her.
Lucie goes above and beyond every day, taking them to the most wonderful places, creating memorable experiences, and fostering a sense of adventure and curiosity.
But what truly sets her apart is the genuine love she has for our children—she treats them as if they were her own. This deep bond gives us peace of mind knowing that they are in the best possible hands. We are so grateful for everything Lucie does and couldn't imagine our lives without her.

Lucie has been babysitting for us since October 2016 and I can not recommend her enough.
Lucie has a natural caring nature and our two boys (aged 5 and 11) love spending time with her.
She is very reliable, punctual, caring and great fun - our boys jump for joy when they know Lucie is babysitting - we are lucky to have found Lucie and look forward to seeing a lot more of her :)
