My Summary
About Me
** Specialisation - ASN tuition **
Hello, my name is Beth and I am a qualified Primary teacher living in Paisley, Scotland. In my life I have many interests and passions including travel, art, and sport however, my life up until now has always revolved around working with children and young people. Whether it be in formal classroom settings or fun-filled camp jobs, it can be seen through my choice of career and my past summers working at camp that working with children is my key passion in life.
After graduating from University in 2018 I undertook my probationary teaching year in Glasgow where I taught a primary 7 class of thirty pupils. After this, I took a year out to travel where I worked abroad in Spain teaching English, and then traveled around Asia for a number of months. On my return, I got a role as a Covid recovery teacher in a Primary one classroom where I supported learners to establish and develop their basic skills within numeracy and literacy. I then secured work in my current role as a Primary teacher within a Charity based primary school which supports learners who have additional Support Needs within Education.
Through my employment working with children and young people I have a good knowledge of Scottish Government legislation such as GIRFEC and SHANARRI indicators which are at the heart of ensuring the safety and achievement of all children in Scotland; I have experience putting these into practice in a range of settings to ensure the optimal outcomes for each individual. I have experience planning and implementing activities for a wide range of children, providing me with exceptional knowledge of how to differentiate and suit experiences to a range of individuals. I feel my experiences creating strong bonds with children make me able to provide learners with a positive, nurturing, and safe learning environment where interests are encouraged and built upon to foster a love for learning.
