My Summary
Adventure Glen Childcare - Are You Ready To Start Your Child's Adventure?
About Me
"Adventure Glen Childcare" is located in Craigmarloch/Dullatur, Cumbernauld. The service is managed by an experienced QUALIFIED NURSERY PRACTITIONER undergoing Forest School Leader certification. We are situated ideally for commuters joining or leaving the M80 at Cumbernauld.
We have FOUR staff members (childminder and three assistants); therefore, we cater to up to 12 children at any one time. The developing outdoor area has a sandpit with a bridge going over it to the outdoor classroom covered in a thatch roof, fairy lights and artificial ivy - think of it like the secret garden where magical adventures happen. The sandpit will shortly be surrounded by our outdoor fish tanks, which will be lit up to allow the children to watch them from the outside view holes. We have large boulders and tree stumps for story reading time.
We have commercial nursery play equipment, such as a water pump station and water play. We also have our very own bunny, Isa, who we all look after and take walks on the harness!
What have we been doing recently?
We have projects on the woodland and various things around us in everyday life. We had a trip to the seaside to collect shells and tied it in with learning about life in the sea!
We recently went to Butterfly World in Summer to do our butterfly project. This tied in with growing our own butterflies at home from tiny caterpillars and releasing them into the wild as fully grown butterflies. They even returned to visit us weeks later in the garden, much to the children's delight!
OUTDOORS!
We believe the outdoors has much to offer, come rain or shine, so most of our learning projects take place in the fresh air. These can include den building, a controlled fire to toast our marshmallows, messy play, mini beast studies, and more!
Did you know?
At Adventure Glen Childcare, every child has their own personal plan, a private web page with up-to-date photos and details about their time at AGC and extensive opportunities to expand their learning and development through various methods of play!
The service has operated since 2012 at our previous home in Denny/Stirling. At our inspection by the Care Inspectorate, it was graded a "Very Good Service," with excellent feedback to accompany the award.
Leaving your child with anyone you don't know is a daunting process, and understandably, you may be feeling unsure of where is best for your children and family's needs. Why not get to know us through a meet-and-greet appointment?

Once all staff have completed the level 7 “Forest School Leader” qualification with Perth Highlands and Islands University by June 2025, our forest schooling aspect will be included in 2025. As seen in other local settings, it will not be an additional add-on. As always, all outings are included in the price, and as part of our commitment to you, we are now including wipes, sun cream, and nappy cream in your package. We now only require you to send nappies and any other child-specific supplies your child needs.
All staff will undergo a Child Protection and Outdoor First Aid refresher in due course, funded by Adventure Glen Childcare.
We also recently entirely restructured our curriculum to include the ‘Pre-Birth to Three’, ‘GIRFEC’, ‘SHANARRI’, ‘My Health and Social Care Standards’, ‘Curriculum for Excellence’, and ‘Realising the Ambition: Being Me’ Frameworks.

I cannot thank adv wood childcare enough for all the care my kids received to let me work as a single parent. My boys where always excited to go and loved telling me about all the adventures they went on. They had a great social life with Kayleigh and all trips were educational and fun. They also enjoyed completing all their homework at adv wood and enjoyed baking cakes for me and they were always trying new and healthy foods. I'm looking forward to putting my kids to adv wood again at their new home and feel blessed to be so at ease and happy with Kayleigh looking after my boys. I can enjoy work knowing my kids are in the best hands and the unsociable hours kayleigh provides are a god send to my family.

Thank you so much for leaving the review :) See you again soon!
My children really enjoy their time at Adventure Wood Childcare. I’ve never had childcare where they are so enthusiastic. I love the programme they do and all the wee bits and bobs they come home with. Their homework is always done and Kayleigh has really helped with reading and phonics. This has been a saving grace since I always get home late at nights. I can always book the girls in for Saturday and Sunday if I have meetings or am working away only to find I’ve no childcare for the full time away. They still adhere to my bedtime routine for the girls and they are already bathed and fast asleep when I collect them at night. This is not just childcare. It’s like a personal Nanny service for every child - truly amazing. Oh and the pick up and drop off service saves me so much time if I’m running late.

Kayleigh has taken excellent care of my two grandchildren whilst my Daughter.
They love the outdoors and doing the forest school activities.
I also like the baking, library, going to the beach or visiting farm animals.
I have no hesitation in recommending Kayleigh and team for childcare in the local area.

Thanks Hilda. Happy to help! :)
My girls have always gone on adventures with Kayleigh from when they were small. She really looks after them and finds new and innovative ways to take care of children. She is never stuck indoors with the kids and that was why I always loved reading their daily diaries to see what they had been up to every day. I never felt guilty dropping them off because I knew they would be well-fed with a huge nutritious array of food on the menu, outdoor activities which I would always be envious I couldn't be doing with them! Toasting marshmallows on a home built fire in the woods or going up Dumyat mountain for some fresh air, the name is true as the girls always have had an adventure with Kayleigh. Pink rosy cheeks, full tummies and fall asleep on the way home - what more could you need from a childcare provider! I hope her plans to expand into a nursery happen as she brings a whole new element to childcare. I'm sure it helps that she is qualified too which helps meet expectations of the Care Inspectorate. I hope it all goes well in her new home. My girls can't wait to get started again at the new place which we've seen has an actual designated zone for childcare with play room, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom all separate from her main house.
