My Summary
About Me
Hello, my name is Esme and run a childminding setting Fun Days at Esme's in Llanfihangel Talyllyn, 3 miles from Brecon, 2 miles from Bwlch and 1 mile from Llangorse and Groesford . We are registered for 16 children. Choosing for a setting with 1 childminder and 4 assistants will have enormous advantages for you. It means that if any of us are taking a holiday, it does not mean that you also have to take your holidays or if a childminder is ill or has to spend time in hospital, it will not stop your childcare arrangements as it would do with a lone childminder.
I started 20 years ago now and as it proved a very popular setting, I took on an assistant in 2007 and another 3 in 2009. We all have a Level 3 in Childcare or higher.
We offer Holiday Care in our Holiday Club for the older siblings.
I am lucky enough to live in a lovely rural property with a big garden which is made use of every day regardless the weather.
The children are all supplied with an all in one weather suit and wellies to be able to enjoy the outdoors without getting too wet and dirty.
They are regularly taken into town or the library to learn to hold on to the buggy and some road sense ;) because as we all know, these are not the children's strongest points and especially for children who are with us full time, those are skills that will have to be taught. To arrange a chat or a visit, please call or text.
My Experience
I have been a Registered childminder since 2005. I have, as mentioned above, two children myself, who are all grown up and not living at home. I have completed many courses in the last 20 years to enhance my child development skills such as a level 3 and 5 in Childcare, Speech and Language therapy, First Aid, Child Protection, playwork level 3, Behaviour management, Language and Play and Number and Play training, Female mutilation, Safeguarding and Leadership and many more.
My Qualifications
I have a level 3, and 5 in Child Care, Learning and Development and level 3 in Speech and Language, Behaviour Management, Autism Awareness, Inclusive Play, Child protection, Food Safety and Fire Safety. and Paediatric First Aid, Language and Play and Numbers and Play, Female mutilation and Safeguarding and Leadership.
I have completed many other courses to keep up to date with new legislation regarding childcare. All the ladies working here at Fun Days are a level 3 , 5 or have a Degree in childhood studies.

Our daughter Ellie has been going to Esme's in school holidays for years and has grown into a lovely young girl in no small part thanks to Esme's.
The warm and friendly environment there has helped her confidence build and enabled her to deal with new situations in an easy stride.
Esme herself is a lovely lady who is very helpful and quick to respond to any queries via email or phone.
The staff there are all lovely and great with the wide ranging age of kids.
I highly recommend Esme's as a great place to send your child where they will be happy and have fun days out.
Great value too

Our little boy started at Fun Days when he was 9 months and is now 2 years old. It’s a warm and friendly place for children to grow and develop and we have been extremely pleased with everything during this time. We really hope that he will stay with them until he starts full time school. My job can be a bit manic at times so it’s great to know that my little boy is well looked after and that they are flexible, if I am delayed he is always safe. The team is really great and has taken the time to get to know my son and his funny ways. He is quite energetic so their large outside play area is perfect for him to run around with his friends. On sunny days they get out the big bottles of sunscreen, paddling pool and water slides whilst on rainy days when there is a hint of sunshine they get out in the fresh air in waterproof suits and wellies to splash in some puddles or feed the ducks. In addition to playing with the numerous toys at the setting they enhance the children’s experiences by taking them out to visit local parks, playgroups and the library. The biggest thing for me is how happy my little boy is; he runs in smiling, laughing and enjoys his busy days. I would recommend them without hesitation.

I had to return to work full time following the birth of both my children so good childcare was essential for me and my family. I researched childcare within a 10 mile radius of Brecon and Fun Days stood out for me from the start. The staff are friendly, well-qualified and have a genuine interest in the well-being and development of the children in their care. The setting is second to none, with designated childrens play areas, sleep rooms and fabulous outdoor facilities - even a water slide in the summer, weather permitting! Both my boys settled quickly here; one is now 5 and in school full-time but still asks for play dates with Esme! He was part of the family during his time there and so there was never any question as to where my second son would go; he enjoys outings to the library, walks in the woods and messy play with his friends there. I remain extremely happy with the care he receives and if you are looking for a setting that is both professional and welcoming then look no further. This really is a home from home.

Our daughter went to Esme's on her 1st Birthday. We looked at a few settings before choosing Esme's, who in our opinion, by far stood out as the best in our area. The setting itself is very impressive, clean and full of toys/equipment, clearly indicating that the children's interests are a number 1 priority. We were also very impressed with the information made available to us about their policies, procedures and the other members of staff who work within the setting. Esther and all the girls are friendly, caring and our daughter really loves going there and even though she is in school now, she often asks when she can go back to Esme's for a play. The communication is also first class which puts your mind at ease when leaving your child for the first time. We feel that our daughter has come on very well from being there, it has boosted her confidence and given her a great start to growing up. I will definitely be using Esme's in the future and highly recommend Esme's to anyone looking for childcare.

Fun Days at Esme's was a golden find. My Little Boy immediately took to the friendly and open staff, the large variety of fun and educational toys (both indoor and out) and the homely, comforting atmosphere. My son is now 3 and has been going to Esme's once a week for the past year. Drop off and pick up is easy and the staff are never too busy to stop and chat about the day's events and feedback from each session. My son always eats well (even his peas and carrots) and chats all the way home about what he's been doing and who he's been playing with. The activities are varied and the children spend as much time as possible outdoor which is great. My son never looks back when I drop him off and is beaming when I collect him at the end of the day, so a big Thank you to all at Esme's for giving me peace of mind, knowing my son is well cared for and is safe, happy and well.

My little boy started at Esme's in August and I've been delighted with the service. My son is picked up from home in the morning and has an absolutely lovely day playing inside and outside with a huge range of toys, activities and other children. The staff are so caring and wonderfully flexible. I was really concerned about my son not sleeping in a nursery, so it was great that there are separate rooms for the children to nap in and that your own routine can be stuck to. It's always heartbreaking leaving your baby with someone else while you work but I don't think I could have picked a better childcare setting. They are so reliable and the children (including my boy) seem so happy there.

Our boy started going to ESME full time when he was 10 months old (he is 2 now). We love that Esther provides a safe, caring and fun environment. All the ladies working at ESME are very experienced and have in-depth knowledge in handling difficult situations.
We are always kept well informed and we love reading the daily dairy to find out what our boy does. Everyday is packed with activities, from storytelling, art & crafts and dancing to the tunes indoor to going for walks to feed the ducks, to the library or playing outdoor in the huge garden. He thoroughly enjoys the varieties.
We are happy that our boy has been given lots of encouragement, care and discipline. And it gives us a piece of mind knowing he is home from home and enjoys every minute of it.

My son who is 2 has been going to Esme's for 6 months and my older 2 aged 4 and 5 have pre school care and holiday care too. They are happy to go and enjoy their time there, they run off when we arrive and I don't get much of a goodbye anymore! I take that to mean they are happy, in fact I often get asked if they can go when we are not due in. A good variety of activities are available and they are all well fed and cared for. Lots of outdoor play which I like. I have found Esme's very flexible too which is an advantage if work commitments vary. I would happily recommend Esme's.

My eldest son (almost 3) started when he was just 9 months and my youngest has joined him and turned 1 a week ago. For the sake of balance, the only criticism I can offer is that my eldest is too keen to go. He often asked to go during the holidays as he misses his friends (children and dogs alike), it can makes his doting mother feel left out ;)
Whilst they are under 2 the children come home with little books telling you about their day, little achievements, new friends, favourite toys etc. Esme's has rabbits and 2 gorgeous dogs that mean my boys get to learn about pets even though I'm allergic.
The childminders genuinely care about my boys and I feel no qualms at all about leaving them here. You get a personal relationship so often lacking with the larger nurseries but also the social benefit of having other children to play with.
We have recommended Esme's to several work colleagues who now use them. We have pick ups at the front door, it could not be easier.

My daughter now aged 2 1/2 has been going to Esmes since she was 1 years old. She enjoys her days there and I find that going gives her confidence and time to interact with other children. When she first started she had a book telling me about her day which gave me great enjoyment reading at the end of the day. She brings home drawings and for mothers day they brought home lovely cakes and a card. She greatly enjoys playing outside and walks. They also have time to take them to the park and library.
Her sister will be starting shortly 2 days a week when she is 8 months and I have every confidence that she will enjoy her time there.
I am extremely happy to send my children to this setting and would recommend them.
