My Summary

My Experience

I am currently working in an independent infant school setting as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant and provide cover to teach in classes and am fully trained in the read, write, inc programme teaching phonics and writing to KS1 children which is my speciality. Read write inc focuses on identifying sounds within words, for example ay and then the child is taught how to blend the sounds together to form words. Various methods and games are used to then reinforce their learning. I work with children from ages 4years to 7years. ( Reception to year 2). I have a passion for helping children click with their literacy skills, reading and maths and I tailor my teaching to each individual child's development and unique methods of learning.
I have also recently been trained in the jolly phonics programme.

My role at my setting is running a space called the Active Learn Zone providing 'hands on' learning using various resources such as Numicon in maths.
I also work closely with intervention groups enabling children to boost their confidence and self esteem if required.

My Qualifications

NVQ3 in Childcare development and a Level 4 Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification.
First Aid trained and trained to deliver the Read, Write , Inc programme for children learning to read and write.
Numicon trained.
Currently up to date with Safeguarding training.
