About Me
I am a kind and compassionate person who values the interests and ideas of the children I work with. I have worked in childcare for the last 8 years taking a child-centered approach in the settings I have been based in. I have experience with the ages 6 months up to 4 years with placement experience with children in KS1. I love to be creative, often drawing and painting with the children and value to opportunity to expand on their ideas, creating great opportunities for learning and development through play. I have also been working with behaviour management strategies to help children express their feelings and understand that all feelings are okay but looking into how we manage each one, I love to use the colour monster for this.
My Experience
I completed university, gaining my degree in Early Years, I have also worked within all rooms of a nursery setting. Throughout all my roles I have adhered to all statutory frameworks and to the expectations of Ofsted, I am well versed with the EYFS and Development Matters, understanding the importance of the unique child. Recently I have spent my time as support staff within a reception class working 1:1 with a child who has additional needs. I have always ensured that the children in my care are treated with respect and are part of the same learning experience as their peers.
My Qualifications
First class degree with honours in Early Years from the University of Huddersfield
Level 3 qualification in Early Years
Pediatric first aid trained
Grade C in both Maths and English GCSE
My Availability
I am currently looking to work over the 6 weeks holidays to help support parents. As I am based in a school I am available every day after 21st July up until September starts.
