About Me
I have 23 years experience working with children and have lived in Catterick Garrison now for 20 years with my husband and two grown up children.
My Experience
I’ve been gaining valuable experience throughout the years, starting when my own children were little when I became a childminder for the first time, and then as they grew up and started school I progressed my career into working in schools and qualified as an advanced teaching assistant.
During the last 12 years supporting teaching in school I have assisted numerous families and children in Primary Education and have extensive experience in behaviour management and helping children with special educational needs including autism, ADHD, partially sighted, hearing impaired and various physical disabilities, as well as children with language barriers where English is their second language.
My other role in school was as play leader which required me to manage play times, providing a wide range of sports and activities to suit all ages and abilities and guiding children and staff in playtime. I was the manager of a team of 'Play Buddies', 25 students aged 9-11 who were selected yearly to help with the planning and setting up of equipment. The aim being to provide the whole school with enjoyable play.
In addition to my work in school I have also enjoyed working in breakfast club, afterschool club and holiday club for a number of years, providing a wide range of activities to all ages.
Now once again I am registered with OFSTED as a childminder and am ready, willing, and able to provide your children with the care they need in my own home. Whether it be full time preschool, after school or during the school holidays. By becoming a consistent presence in your child’s life, I always provide a nurturing, stable, and safe experience.
