Hello, my name is Laura, and I’m an experienced Ofsted Registered Childminder based in Cox Green, Maidenhead. With over 25 years of hands-on experience in childcare, including roles as a Nursery Room Leader, professional Nanny, Babysitter, and now Childminder, I’ve dedicated my career to helping children grow up happy, healthy, safe, and confident.
I’m fully DBS-checked (updated annually) and hold a current Paediatric First Aid certificate. I also have full insurance with public liability cover and accept childcare vouchers, universal credit, and 15/30 hours of funded care.
I provide a warm, home-from-home setting for children from birth upwards, offering a safe, secure, and stimulating environment. I support children’s development through play-based learning, encouraging creativity, literacy, numeracy, and emotional and social growth. I work closely with parents to align with each child’s needs and routines, ensuring consistency and personalised care.
My home in Cox Green includes a well-equipped playroom (some say it rivals a toy shop!) and a child-friendly garden full of fun activities. We also love to explore the outdoors, whether it's forest walks, feeding ducks by the river, or trips to Ockwells Park, Windsor, and other local attractions.
I live with my husband, our two lovely children, my daughter (12) and son (8), and our gentle dog Millie, who is well socialised with children of all ages.

My Experience
With over 25 years of hands-on childcare experience, I’ve had the privilege of supporting children of all ages in their early development. I am Ofsted registered and fully committed to providing high-quality care in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
Throughout my career as a Nursery Room Leader, professional Nanny, Babysitter, and now as a Childminder, I’ve worked to create nurturing environments where children can grow socially, make friends, build confidence, and develop strong self-esteem. I believe learning should be fun and engaging, whether we're doing crafts indoors, attending local playgroups, or getting active outdoors in the fresh air.
I hold a Level 3 NVQ in Childcare and have completed a range of professional training, including:
Paediatric First Aid
Safeguarding and Child Protection
Behaviour Management
Special Educational Needs (SEN) Training
I continue to update my skills regularly to ensure I offer the best possible care. My approach combines structured learning with play-based activities, always tailored to each child’s individual needs and developmental stage.

My Availability
I currently have availability from the end of June for 4 to 5 days per week.
My core hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 5:30 pm.

Laura has done a fantastic job of caring for our son over the last two years. He started with Laura just before turning 2, and we've consistently been very happy with how well he has been cared for and given an entertaining time. It's clear that Laura has a background working professionally in childcare for a number of years as she takes pride in providing a range of pre-planned stimulating activities for the children, which often follow a theme across and number of months. There are also many enjoyable outings to local parks and playgroups. Laura also marks special national occasions (e.g. World Cup, Royal milestones) with themed activities and has done other great things like take the children to see the Changing of the Guard and see the King pass by in his car!
Laura very diligently follows guidance provided by parents. She is very responsive to communications/messages. On WhatsApp she also shares numerous photos which are lovely to see of what our child has been up to.
It's been lovely to see, from a parental perspective, that Laura and our son formed a great relationship.
We would highly recommend Laura's first class childcare to anyone looking for a childminder in the Maidenhead area.

I enquired for school pickups as this was listed on the profile. She also said she could direct me to other childminders in the area if she couldn’t help. Turns out she does neither.

We couldn’t be happier with the care Laura gives our two year old son. After taking the decision not to return to a nursery setting following the lockdown, I was a little anxious about finding childcare in a home environment having never done so before and I’m so glad we found Laura. Laura provides an enriching, creative and caring environment, with a variety of activities and learning through play. Communication is always excellent and Laura takes the time to send pictures, updates and is highly organised and very professional. Our son loves spending time at Laura’s, we couldn’t recommend more highly.

Laura was an invaluable help for us in this difficult times, she is very professional and kind with the little ones, my son is very fussy eating and she did her best for keep him fed.
Her place is very well organizer with a large garden, my son just loved, she kept him entertained and doing all sort of activities, since crafting to painting.
I can't recommend her enough, thanks Laura.

It is with great pleasure to recommend Laura as a childminder. She has looked after my daughter for two years since she was 11 months old, four times a week, in her home daycare setting.
She is warm, gentle, kind, caring, trustworthy, responsible, creative, dedicated, and loving.
Laura provides a setting for play based learning, a balanced program which includes stories, songs, themed craft activities, as well as free play experiences indoors and outdoors.
She is often in contact with us reaffirming that our daughter is happy and safe through conversations, text messaging and photos. Communication has always been open, thoughtful and helpful.
I highly recommend Laura to anyone who is looking for child care. I'm so grateful to her. My daughter absolutely loved time with Laura and her family and there has not been a single day where she has not been happy.

Laura looked after my 4 yr old over the summer holidays and she absolutely loved going there. She took them out quite often and has a very fun garden. they went out to age appropriate activities for trips and sent me good pictures all the time.
she is quite professional, gave detailed feedback to cover the activities of the entire day and kept my little one engaged.
she is very warm and friendly and the kids always had a good time.

My son has been with Laura and I cannot recommend her highly enough. She has helped him through many changes in a short period of time (moving house, a baby sister) and he has thrived in her care. A few key points that I wanted to highlight:
Laura provide a safe environment where children can learn and discover through play. The outdoor play area is simply wonderful, with a playhouse, slide and bouncy castle. There's a perfect balance between free play, indoor and outdoor activities, and outings.
Laura is passionate about childcare, she genuinely wants to know and understand your child; she has often picked up on little things that I have missed.
She has so much experience but is always looking for ways to improve the service she provides. For example, she is looking to start with a new version of an electronic diary which is very interactive.
Communication is excellent, Laura is always available to discuss anything and they have always been supportive.
But most important of all, my little boy loves going to Laura and he has formed a strong and secure attachment with her. And for me, that is the most important of all.
