About Me
I live in Peacehaven with my Husband and our 2 children 6yrs & 3yrs old. I started Holly’s Childcare after having my first child, as I am passionate about supporting the development and learning of young children and playing a part in providing a high standard of care to the youngest of our community.
Our setting:
The children have access to a large range of toys and activities as well as a secure enclosed garden with lots of space for them to play and learn. Fresh air is important for growth and development so we aim to get outside daily, and we often enjoy visiting local parks. Other trips we enjoy include visiting the Library, beach, soft play and walks in the local environment.
Activities and experiences are tailored to individual needs and interests. I work closely with parents/carers to enable me to fully meet the needs of the children in my care and to ensure they enjoy and achieve to their full capacity. The children have opportunities for arts and crafts, exploring and using their imagination as well as learning through first hand experiences. The children are given ample choices and activities are open to all that wish to participate.
My Experience
I have several years of childcare experience working in different Early Years provisions. I started out Nannying which involved preparing meals, creating stimulating activities for the children, following daily care plans, and collecting older children from school. I also have had experience in Nursery environments, where I have worked from Nursery practitioner up to management level. Some of my key responsibilities included maintaining parent/carer partnerships, staff recruitment, liaising with OFSTED, updating policies and procedures and ensuring the highest level of care was provided to children at all times. Prior to becoming a childminder, I worked as a Trainer Assessor delivering level 2 and level 3 Childcare qualifications, this has also involved delivering functional skills in English, Maths and ICT. In this role I have managed my own caseload and organised my own diary to ensure all students are progressing in a timely manner, I had targets and deadlines to work towards and took sole responsibility for the students I had on programme.
My Qualifications
I hold a full and relevant level 3 qualification in Early Years (BTEC National Diploma) and I am Paediatric first aid trained. Continued professional development is very important to me and I attend regular training to keep my practice current and effective. Recent training includes; Safeguarding, Prevent Duty, Data Protection/GDPR and Equality & Diversity, SENCO, and food hygiene. All certificates are available for Parents/Carers on request.
My Availability
Full and part time hours are available for 0-5yr olds. We are open all year round Monday-Thursday 7am-5pm.
