Hello, my name is Kayleigh. I am 25 years old and I have been working as a nanny since February 2021. Prior to this I was a nursery practitioner, a role I held for 7 years with children aged 6 months to 5 years.
I have always loved being around children, so choosing a career in childcare was an incredibly rewarding decision. Working in this environment has allowed me to develop my natural intuition for childcare. Along with my experience in childcare I also have four nieces and nephews that I love spending time with and babysit for often.
I enjoy taking children out on trips to the park and to the shop in order to aid their understanding of the world and help them learn to stay safe when out in the real world. I think this is massively important for children to learn from a young age in order to keep them safe.
My Experience
I have been working as a nanny since February 2021. I have 7 years experience as a nursery nurse. Throughout my 7 years I have worked with children of mixed abilities and ages including children with autism and Down's syndrome. I have been trained to offer effective support specifically for SEND children, which included learning Makaton and identifying the particular needs of individual children.
I have a level 3 childcare qualification, safeguarding and an advanced DBS. Aside from working as a nanny and practitioner in a nursery environment, I have also done a lot of babysitting, both for family, friends and children who attended the nursery I worked at.
