About Me
I'm a fun and outgoing person,who enjoys working with children. I aim to provide and warm,fun and caring atmosphere,where children are free to learn and explore through play.
I pride myself on ensuring that I will always have a well maintained,clean and safe environment for all children. I have a big spacious play area which is purpose-built for the children to have lots of fun and become creative with a variety of toys and a large outdoor garden area. We can go on morning and afternoon walks to the local parks and nature walks when the weather permits.
I'm dedicated on keeping myself up to date on current legislation/guidelines in reference to childcare as well as making sure children have a variety of resources where they can enhance current skills and abilities indoors and outdoors.
My Experience
I have over 18 years experience of working with children 0-8 years old in numerous settings,such as private nurseries,children centres and primary schools, reception class to year 2.
I'm a mum of two wonderful children a girl aged 16 and boy aged 8 , So I have good experience of babies right through to teens.
I'm very highly trained and have several childcare qualifications gained through face to face and online training courses. I have a regular routine each day and I'm flexible to accommodate parents needs, working in partnership with parents.
I have space for children full day Monday - Thursday ( January 2025) from 8am until 6pm or 8am until 2pm/ 9am until 3pm minimum 6 hours morning sessions only, flexible start times available 7.30-7.45am at an additional charge if needed
* Half-term spaces available for summer holidays and Febuary half-term 2025.

My Availability
Available Monday - Thursday 8am until 6pm
Or 8am until 2pm. 9am until 3pm
I will have full-time spaces available from September 2024 onwards. Flexible start time
I do encourage 2-4 weeks settling in period for babies under 1 or just 1 years old due to separation anxiety. Parents/Carers are welcome to do a stay and play while other children are not present due to safeguarding.

£7.50 Per hour short hours minimum 6hrs
£65.00 full day 8-6pm
£45.00 half day 8am-2pm - 9am- 3pm
£10.00 extra for 7.30am start time

Althea is a great person and an amazing childminder. My son just turned 4 and from day one she managed to get into him, he happily talks about her and the fun activities they do together. He brings all kinds of fun crafts and drawings home, which we proudly hang somewhere visible in the house. She is warm and loving, also being best at calming him down during the toddler mood swings and tantrums. I know he feels safe with her, which is the most important part of all.

Althea is such a lovely, calm and warm person. She has been amazing with my almost one year old. She is kind, patient, caring, nurturing, fun, attentive and is great at interacting with children and babies. She has been incredible at accommodating my baby's dietary needs from day one and has also been very flexible working around my childcare needs. She has paid close attention to his likes and dislikes and caters to his preferences very well. She has a beautiful set up: a spacious and colourful playroom with a great variety of toys, and a great and safe outdoor space which my baby loves to explore! She makes him healthy, fresh and delicious meals. My baby settled in very easily and quickly thanks to her and the lovely environment she has created. He has been so happy! I highly recommend Althea!
