Hi! I'm Betty
I am an registered Ofsted child minder in Henley on Thames
I know that the first few years of a childs development are the most important, that is why I follow the recomendations of nationally approved standards throught my curriculum. I positively encourage learning through planned activities and via play orientated education.
At my setting there is better one to one bond with each child, a gain in their trust and ability to teach them and follow progress on a more personal level. Apart from this, most of the children in my care stay with me often from birth or just after all the way up to School age.
This warm and special group begins with creative playtime where children can enjoy natural, simple play materials. The rhythm, repetition and relevance of every week carries with its own discipline as it is important for children to adopt a routine from a young age.
In line with the EYFS, some of the activities we carry out daily include making crafts, songs, fairy tales, dancing, baking, yoga, exploring nature on walks to the woods, learning about our environments, phonics, numbers and colours, climbing and building forts, science lessons and many more.

We create an environment which is warm, loving and comfortable that forms a bridge between home and Betty's Daycare. Young children learn through imitation, therefore we allow all of our children of all ages to mix as we believe it is important for the younger children to play and learn through the older children. This also allows the older children to prove they are good role models. The celebration of festivals and holidays throughout the year guides the child from one season to another, whilst allowing the child to wonder and have gratitude for the earth, others and themselves.
I work alongside my two assistants Yassy & Kriss.

My Experience
Knowing your children are being cared for in safe and fun family home while you're working is very important (I know this being a mother of 2!) and I aim to make sure that a child in my care, full time or part time, will be getting the most out of play and learning. I have had my own nursery setting for nearly 10 years which my team and I are always adding to, with lots of educational activities and toys to choose from. Throughout the day we follow our own Betty’s Daycare timetable where we provide 1-1 activities, group activities and outdoor time and free play time.
I follow the recomendations of nationally approved standards throught my curriculum. I positively encourage learing through planned activities and via play orientated education, My Ofsted rating is 'Good' registered since 2011.
Food: We aim to provide only freshly prepared homemade meals which are healthy. (Example’s include Chicken, rice, vegetables, Homemade lasagne etc)
Vegetarian and Pescatarian options always available everyday.

My Fees
- Childminding from £8.00 per hour
My fees for Childminding are from £7.00 per hour (full time), home made meals available at additional cost. I start from 8am up to 5:30pm daily.

She is currently looking after my 2 boys (3 and 6 y.o. respectively) and they are both very happy spending time with her. They always tell me about their activities at Betty's and and that they love her! Both her and her assistant Irene, are wonderful women, full of compassion and very caring. The environment is fully adjusted to kids' needs and it is very cozy and well looked after. I cannot thank her enough for not only being very accommodating and helpful, but above all for being so wonderful with my boys. A very happy mum. :)

If anyone is looking for someone to look after their children I just wanted to recommend Betty from Henley Childminders. My whole world revolves around my son and he is the reason I live and breath so you can imagine how nervous and hard it was to leave him the first day I had to return to work. However after the tears the first day I left him, half an hour later I received a photo and a phone call reassuring me he was fine! Betty is now part of the family and has made my life so much easier and is always willing to help! She is amazing with my son and he is always happy and content when I drop and pick up. A year on he has progressed so much and he often comes home having learnt a new song or word and I cant thank Betty enough so thought I would write a review for her instead lol. She is flexible and kind and clearly loves the children in her care! Totally amazing and so pleased I picked her!
