About Me;

Hello, I’m Cheryl, an experienced and passionate childcare professional with over 18 years of experience in early years education. I currently work as a Play and Learn Educational Nanny, Baby Massage Instructor, Play and Learn Teacher, and CELTA Tutor. My dedication lies in nurturing children’s development through enriching educational experiences rooted in their day-to-day lives.

I believe that every child is unique, and I adapt my approach to meet each child’s individual needs, interests, and learning styles. By providing a supportive, engaging, and caring environment, I help children thrive emotionally, socially, and academically.

My Experience

I began my childcare journey as a Nursery Nurse, where I gained invaluable experience working with young children. Over the years, I transitioned into nannying, supporting numerous families and often staying with them until their children started school. In many cases, I continued to provide wrap-around care alongside other roles.

Alongside nannying I also teach Baby Massage classes and assist at a Play and Learn Centre, where I engage children through music, songs, and hands-on activities while educating parents on the developmental benefits behind each activity.

My Approach

I take a holistic and flexible approach to childcare, ensuring that both children and parents feel supported and cared for. My focus is not only on fostering children’s well-being but also on providing peace of mind for parents through consistent communication and updates.

As part of my role, I create individualised learning and development activities tailored to each child’s unique needs. To keep parents informed, I provide a personalised daily diary written from the child’s perspective, detailing activities, observations, sleep times, meals, and any other important information. I also share regular photos and messages throughout the day to help parents feel connected to their child’s experiences.

Additionally, I compile monthly developmental reports based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework to track progress and ensure children are meeting their developmental milestones. I pride myself on being punctual, adaptable, and maintaining a positive, nurturing attitude. My goal is to create a safe, stimulating environment where children can grow, learn, and flourish—while ensuring parents feel fully supported and confident in the care I provide.
