About Me

*****I AM NO LONGER LOOKING FOR A NANNY POSITION **************

My name is Kim and I am 54 years of age. I am looking for a nanny position, preferable working with under 5's so that I can get to know them and build their confidence and help them prepare for when they start school. I am available to work Mon - Thurs. I am Ofsted registered.

I have 2 grown up children, I live with my husband, two cats and two rabbits. I enjoy reading, cross stitch, holidays and anything Disney. Both my husband and I are non-smokers.

I have 20 years experience of working with children in both the school and nursery settings, recently I have been working as a nanny and have enjoyed the freedom it brings, in being able to create activities initiated by the child. I love working with children, my passion is working with younger children, I love watching them blossom and grow into happy confident toddlers.

My Experience

I currently look after a little one 4 days a week and am not looking for any other work.

I looked after a child in their own home ( I started this when they were 18 months old, they are now 5years old and go to school).

From October 2020 to December 2020, I looked after a 24 month child for 3 days a week. We enjoyed walks to the local playground, through a wooded area where we stopped to look for wildlife and listen out for the birds singing. We played games, matching activities and encouraged counting and colour naming. We often sung nursery rhymes. We did craft activities when their older sibling came home from school. I adapted the activity so as to engage both children .

In January 2020 I looked after a 3 month old, this was stopped in March due to lock down. I resumed this position in August and finished this job in the middle of September as the child went to nursery.

I have been looking after, caring for and helping children reach their full potential since September 2000. I started working with children when my youngest daughter went to school. I started out as a part-time teaching assistant in a junior school, this very quickly became full time. Whilst in this position I did my NQV2 Teaching Assistant qualification.

As my children became older I decided to change direction and applied to work in a nursery, I found my passion in working with the younger age range of children. I really enjoyed the diversity of working with children aged 3 months to 22 months. Whilst working at this setting I decided to gain my NQV3 Early Years qualification.

Circumstances made me change back to working in a school, again I worked with junior school age children. When my youngest daughter went to college I decided to once again return to working in a nursery as I felt that I could give my full attention to the younger age range.

I started working in an outstanding nursery within the baby room. I continued to work for this nursery for six years within this time I became room leader of the baby room.

I decided at this time that I was going to reduce my hours, so I left the nursery and worked for an agency where I went to different nurseries and covered staff shortages due to sickness and holidays. Whilst doing this I missed knowing the children within the rooms and not being able to give the children the individual care and attention the children need to flourish and grow. I decided to go back to my old nursery as a Bank member of staff. This allowed me to give help, encourage and nurture the children as once again I know the children and their parents.

My Qualifications
