About Me

Hi, I'm Maike Stella, but go by Stella, and am Montessori orientated while at the same time supporting their imagination. I'm not encouraging screen time, with mostly outdoor activities come rain or sun, lots of silliness, crafts, and educational fun gross/fine motor/sensory activities. I am pediatric first Aid/CPR certified & up-to-date, enhanced DBS, studied child psychology & development as well as early childhood education, have 20+ years experience working with toddlers (10 mon - 3 yo), and intermediate Spanish, intermediate German & baby sign language knowledge. I work as a dog walker/pet sitter and photographer when not nannying. I'm very calm, patient, punctual, creative, and believe in routines for children. I combine the authoritative style a la Mary Poppins with Gentle Parenting and lots of fun and silliness.

I myself enjoy being in nature, baking, reading, board games, creating art and children's illustrations, newborn/child/pet photography, line dance, treasure hunts, teaching chickens/goats/dogs/rabbits (yes, I have taught all of them), traveling, horseback riding, cattle drives, quad riding, dog walks, and making the world a better place.

I'm ideally looking for a family that doesn't work from home because it usually turns out being distracting and disrupting our routine. I'm looking for a 2 day/16hr position ideally and close to central Cambridge or Histon. I prefer working with toddlers (10mon-3yo). I have a pet care business as well and am happy to mix childcare and looking after your pet if needed.
Neither drive nor cycle. I do have a driver's license but except you're living in an easy area to drive and have time to give me some lessons first, I don't feel comfortable driving. I was used to driving automatic but have been using public transport for the past 10 years.
