About Me
Rated OUTSTANDING by OFSTED

Thank you for taking the time to view my profile.
My name is Pennie, I live in the small rural village of Weir, near Bacup and have been an OFSTED registered childminder for 13 years
In my home I have a large playroom for the children, and a good size garden for outdoor play with large patio area for bike riding, sandpit, paddling pool etc. all securely fenced and gated.
Living a rural area I have safe woodlands and a duck pond within easy walking distance (accompanied and supervised at all time). The local park has recently had a large amount of investment and provides a secure, enclosed play area with swings and slides. In addition, Townley Hall is only a 5 minute drive away and has a fabulous play area with mini diggers, a basket swing for really little ones, as well as the normal selection of swings, slides, climbing equipment, and large open spaces, perfect for picnics!
I like to teach the children about their food, how it grows and where it comes from as well as looking at "good" foods. In the garden I have a selection of fruit bushes and encourage the children to grow their own vegetables.
Playtime provides the children with an opportunity to explore their world, abilities and feelings in a safe environment and I have a range of fun toys and games to enable them to do this at the same time as learning and stretching themselves.
Playgroups are a great opportunity to meet friends and learn about getting on with people. If you currently attend a playgroup please let me know and I will do my best to ensure we go along so your child can see their friends and maintain their normal routine whilst they settle in here.
My Experience
I have two grown up children and a grandaughter.
I worked as a volunteer at my children's school and helped the children to create their own newspaper, published evey half term, as part of the "Parents as Educators" qualification.
I have also worked as a child minder for 13 years, providing full time and after school care for a range of children including one with mild autism (please contact me if you would like more information).
Under 2, 2, 3 AND 4 YEAR OLD FREE FLEXIBLE CHILDCARE AVAILABLE. UPTO 30 HOURS PER WEEK PLEASE CONTACT ME FOR DETAILS.

Pennie looked after my little girl when she was 1 years old and took care of her like her own. I was so anxious going to work and leaving her due to personal experiences but Pennie made me feel so relaxed. My daughter would have so much fun there and learnt a lot with Pennie. Thank you so much for caring for my daughter in your lovely, safe, happy and fun home.

The most amazing childminder you will find.
Pennie has provided excellent childcare to my son for 4 and a half years. She has provided support to my son who is now 5, and me.
Thank you for everything Pennie!

Pennie is a fantastic childminder.
She looked after our 2 daughters (one 6 months and the other 2 years when they started) for 1.5 years and made them come out of their shells (they used to be very shy).
They went to so many places, Sealife, Eureka, farms, owl sanctuary, play groups and parks etc.
Nothing was a problem for Pennie (changing hours, earlier starts, unplanned late pick-ups).
She cooks great food and gets the children involved in getting it ready.
She used washable nappies as that's what our daughters were used to and helped enormously with potty training.
Both Pennie and her husband Tim are good role models and the children learn from them.
I would definitely recommend Pennie!
We are very said to say "goodbye" but we are moving to a different area of Lancashire.
Thank you Pennie, you have been a star!
