About Me
I am married and a mum to 2 girls, aged 13 and 11. I live 2 miles outside Solihull town centre.
I am a fully Ofsted registered childminder and I offer flexible childcare to suit your individual needs in a cosy and welcoming 'home-from-home' environment.
I am a fun-loving and caring person, passionate about creating a safe and secure environment for your child. I will help them learn and develop at their own pace, through playing and having fun together.
Activities include outings to the local parks, toddler/play groups - such as Play groups, Fundamental moment academy, Adventure Tots (forest school), National Trust outings, Parkridge centre, Shirley Aquatics, local farms and parks and trips to the supermarket with our little trolleys, among many other short trips. I am very flexible and if there is a particular outdoor activity/place your child enjoys will can always include this.
Back at home, the children can enjoy arts and crafts, Playdoh modelling, painting, sand play, simple cooking/baking, lots of pretend play/small world toys, growing flowers and vegetables in the garden. There are lots of toys for the children to play with inside and also outside in the garden. We have a Wendy house, ride on toys, 2 slides and I have designed a Forest play area at the end of the garden including a mud kitchen, pretend campfire, toadstool table and chairs.
My Experience
I am very energetic, fun and nurturing person and enjoy looking after children of all ages. My previous experience was as a Rhythm Time music teacher, teaching music classes to little babies up to preschool age, with classes as big as 18 children. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the children, who I taught warm to me and develop over the months by exploring new skills/activities through music.
I built up strong relationships with the children as well as the parents and we all had lots of fun together using bells, maracas, flashing lights, musical instruments, scarves to name a few.
I have been childminding now for since March 2019 and really enjoy caring for young children and seeing them develop in a safe environment with a small group of children.
My Qualifications
I completed a Childminding course in November 2018, which covered:
- Understanding and working with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
- Recording Children's Development
- Safeguarding Children
- Developing Children's Learning
- Leading and Managing a Childminding Setting
I completed a Paediatric First Aid course in October 2021 and both myself and my husband have been fully DBS checked.
I currently do training for my own personal development once a week to keep me up to date with the latest changes in child development and safeguarding.
My Availability
I am available Monday - Wednesday from 8.00am - 5.15pm, all year around and I will give notice of my family holidays well in advance.

When my son first came into Claire’s setting, I was quite nervous as it was my son's first time in childcare. Claire however really put me at ease and was supportive. Once he had settled in, he has gone from strength to strength under her care. I have greatly appreciated Claire’s warm caring nature, her genuine interest in my son’s development and the effort she puts into providing a positive experience for my son. My son is very much at home there and when at home talks about Claire and the others in the setting which I feel shows that he is happy and engaged. My mind is completely at ease when my son is there every week - thank you Claire!

Claire is everything we hoped for when we were searching for childcare for our daughter. It was a daunting task which most parents probably feel especially when you don’t know the person. As soon as I came across Claire’s profile via childcare.co.uk something just clicked and as soon as we met with Claire we knew instantly that we were happy to put our trust in her to look after our daughter in a very child friendly environment.
She put both of us at ease immediately and we were very shocked how well (the first time we met) our daughter took to her as she was very weary with strangers which we think was due to lockdown during the pandemic and not getting other human interaction apart from her Mummy and Daddy so when we saw that our daughter was comfortable round Claire we knew we were happy for her to look after our daughter with every confidence.
She creates a fun and educational environment and is attentive to development opportunities and logs these, so I never feel I miss out on important milestones. Claire is a kind, patient, fun person and fantastic childminder. I am very glad we found her!
Claire’s ability to interact and care for children has greatly impressed me and I have no hesitation in recommending her to any family or friends seeking childcare.
