My Summary
About Me
My name is Claire and I run Little Heroes Childminding. I am a fully registered and trained Childminder, who has recently moved to St. John's in Worcester from South Birmingham, planning to resume childminding after maternity leave having had my second child.
I am in very close proximity to the Bromyard Road, one of the main roads heading into the city centre. I live in a Close that backs onto a nature reserve making it a peaceful location full of wildlife such as kingfishers, otters, buzzards, ducks, frogs and fish. I have driveway parking available for drop off and collections making your onward journey as stress-free as possible.
I share my home with my husband and our sons who are 4 years old and 6 months old. I started childminding after maternity leave with my first child over 4 years ago.
I provide a home-from-home environment in which the children I care for can feel that they belong, have fun and learn. I have large garden with patio area meaning that children have access to the outdoors on a daily basis.
Having worked with children and families for the past 10 years, and being interested in this for much longer, I am passionate about promoting each child's self-esteem, self-expression and feelings of being loved and celebrated for who they are.
Learning through play and variety of experience is essential for a child's development. The care I provide to children is informed by this.
I provide healthy, balanced snacks and lunch and enjoy involving children in preparing their food insofar as possible.
My Experience
I have over 10 years experience of working with babies, children and families. I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Social Work and until December 2018 I worked at a residential unit, supporting parents with their parenting on a 24/7 basis. The work involved (but was not limited to) helping them to; prepare and offer bottle feeds and nappy changes, commence weaning and provide a healthy diet, to offer appropriate play and interaction to support their child's development and to keep their child safe. I chose to have a career change to childminding in order to allow me to continue working with children while achieving a better work-life balance.
I am also a 36 year old mother to my 4 year old and 6 month old sons. I have experience of traditional weaning methods and am also confident and enthusiastic about Baby-Led Weaning through personal experience and research. I am personally drawn to a more attachment and gentle style of parenting however am very interested to learn about, and work with your own parenting style and methods. I look forward to this broadening my knowledge and experience.
