About Me
I'm a registered childminder and have been for the last eleven years in the Woodthorpe area of Nottingham with my two Boys aged 17 and 12. My aims as a childminder are to offer a happy, loving and safe environment to learn and have fun. I'm a very creative person so I love to provide a variety of craft/ messy play and baking activities. Outdoor play is also important to me as I have two very active boys so playing in the garden and visits to the park are a daily must. I have a large designated playroom and garden with a wide variety of toys for all ages. I also attend local playgroups and soft play with the children. I follow the early years foundation stage and plan activities daily for every child to learn and develop to their full potential.
Parents are welcome to pop in for a look around and to have a chat. All children receive a free of charge settling in period that may consist of a few visits to my home until the child has settled and the parents feel happy.
Due to a recent home upgrade, i now have a designated childminding space so everything is fully contained in one area separate from my home.
My house is situated on the 56 bus route.
My Experience
I have twenty two years of childcare experience the past ten years as a registered childminder.
My Qualifications
OFSTED rating GOOD (Jan 19).
NVQ level three early years care and education.
Paediatric first aid.
Safeguarding children (including Husband).
CRB checked (including Husband).
PACEY registered.
A level art qualification.
BTEC national diploma in 3d art.
My Availability
I can provide before and after school care for Woodthorpe infants and Arno Vale junior school as well as local pre-schools. I live a two minute walk from the infants and Juniors school so it’s only a short walk which is ideal for little legs and rainy days. Our boys (7 & 4 years) have been going to Kerry in the mornings since September 2022. They love having breakfast at her house, playing with her toys and generally being cared for by her until she takes them to school. We would highly recommend her. She has been entirely reliable and has been able to help us when my work days have changed at short notice.

Kerry has not only cared for my child for the past year, but she's developed them as good as any Mother would.
Her new setting, separate to her home, is awesome and my child loves playing in there.
She's always polite, good at communicating and my child looks forward to being dropped off every day.
A credit to her profession, thank you Kerry for being awesome!!!!

We spent some time considering childcare for our son for when he started school, wanting him to be in an environment where he was relaxed and happy, and finally found Kerry in August 2015 just before he started in reception. She was one of the only people who suited our requirements, was flexible and friendly and was local to where we lived. In order to ensure that he felt comfortable, she arranged several taster days, which were beneficial and supported him in his transition from nursery to childminder. In the past two years, our son has formed a close bond with her and the other children in her care. He has been welcomed into her family home not only by Kerry but also her family. She has always gone above and beyond the duty of care, looking after our son as she probably would her own. He is incredibly well cared for and safe, loves the environment, toys and garden and often does not want to come at the end of a day. In the past two years, we could not have asked for anything more from a childminder.
