My Requirements

We are looking for a full time ofsted registered nanny to assist with childcare for two families, who embraces respectful and conscious parenting. The hours are Monday to Friday school pick up until 6:30pm. The nanny will be required to drive to Tadley and collect the children aged 7 and 9 from school and take them to mum's house or their nearby park until mum returns at 6:30pm. Driving time from Reading to Tadley is paid. The other hours are one day in Reading with my 5 year old twins, from 9am until 7pm and one evening per week plus additional hours to suit. On the day that you have my 5 year old twins, you will drive to Tadley to collect the school children and bring them back to my house, where mum will collect them at 6:30pm. The hours for the Tadley mum are 17.5 and the hours for me are 14 plus extras to be agreed. To make it up to 40 hours if you would like the role to have 40 hours instead of 32, we will organise with you some daytime care or another evening to ensure you are earning what you require and we have sufficient childcare. We welcome an open conversation about this. In the instances you have all 4 of the children, you will be remunerated at twice the hourly rate.

The children are creative, love exploring nature, arts and crafts, and reading. They play really well independently and have vivid imaginations. We're looking for a caregiver who is kind, caring, and understands the importance of a nurturing tone, as my approach avoids traditional disciplinary methods in favour of mutual understanding and respect. If you're experienced with or open to learning more about relational approaches to behaviour that align with gentle/conscious parenting principles, I'd be keen to discuss how you could fit into our families' dynamics.

Activities including visiting playgrounds, groups, planting, visiting museums, sharing knowledge, and assisting with home education are key aspects of this role.

There is also a room to rent if you are also looking for somewhere to live. The room is in our house in Reading where I live with my 5 year old twins. You will have a large double bedroom overlooking the rear of the house, which is slightly elevated as we are at the top of a hill so it's a lovely view of victorian homes and countryside beyond that. The rent is £650pm and includes bills and fast internet.
