About Me

We are an English-Austrian family and our at home language is English and German. We are not necessarily looking for a German speaker, but excellent English is non-negotiable. In the past we have had help with English that isn't strong and it's caused some issues with communication.

We have two lovely boys, Teddy is 6 and attends The German School in Petersham 8-3:45pm. Leo is 19 months and goes to a childminder Mon-Thurs until 3pm.

The role would involve arriving at ours at 1:30pm to collect drinks and snacks for the school run, prepare an evening meal for the children as well as laying the table and get everything ready so your full attention is on the children when you are back from the school run. We are looking for someone who is experienced with cooking and presenting healthy and nutritious food (not fried or oven food every day) and has experience with cooking a variety of different meals. We love different cultures, and are very open to different flavours - our kids are not fussy eaters :)

After leaving the house at 2:45pm to collect Leo from his childminder's in Kingston, you would drive to Teddy's school and collect him for 3:45pm. You'd be home with both kids by about 4pm. The plan then would be to entertain the kids for an hour or so. Teddy can watch 30 mins TV, but I like the little one to stay away from screens. At around 5:15-5:30pm (whenever the kids are hungry) you would serve up the dinner and then supervise them eating. The little one needs more help, but is doing really well with spoon feeding himself. It would be great if you could prepare Teddy's snack box for school and wash and fill up his water bottle for the next day after dinner and help clear up. You could be on your way home at 6:30pm.

On Fridays, Leo isn't at the childminder, but at home with me. He attends a Monkey Music class in Thames Ditton. He naps at 1pm. I am flexible about whether someone wants to work full day on Friday, half a day, or not at all.

I'd like to build a lovely relationship based on trust with whoever joins us, and for that person to feel well-liked, respected and part of the family.
