My Summary
About Me
My name is Weronika and I have recently set up Little Puffin's Childcare. I am 38 years old mummy of two school girls, I am enthusiastic and social person who takes pride in all I do. I am punctual, good natured, caring and able to adapt quickly. I have always been interested in Early Years learning and I hold an NVQ Level 3 qualification as an Early Years Practitioner and I have been working in a nursery full time for nearly 3 years now. Previously I have cared for children of various ages over the last 15 years, privately and as part of a team. I am currently finishing my Level 3 in Home-base Childcare course.
At the setting I have created a space where children spend their time playing and learning either in the great outdoors or inside (if the weather is horrible). Climbing, playing with sticks, building dens and exploring the flora and fauna of the surrounding woods are just some of the activities my outdoor childcare offers to a child – all they need is waterproof clothing! I also offer indoor activities, in a unique setting, everything is geared towards encouraging the development of your child.
The idea is that this allows children to make their own choices, learn and develop at their own pace to build confidence, independence, and self-esteem and to create a foundation for life-long learning.
I am massive fan of the Italian physician Dr Maria Montessori, the holistic approach of her learnings aim to develop a child's physical, social, emotional and cognitive abilities through exploring the world around them and using their imagination. Central to the Montessori method of teaching is the view that children have the best capacity to learn during their early years, from birth up until they are six years old.
Little Puffin’s Childcare activities include:
• Climbing trees
• Making campfires and cooking
• Woodworking
• Building shelters and dens
• Playing in the mud
• Foraging
• Various social games such as hide and seek
• Using nature for arts and crafts
• Animal spotting and bug hunting
Whilst some may view the these activities as dangerous and most people associate risks with harm the Little Puffin’s Childcare ethos sees risks as something for children to overcome, which expands their abilities and self-belief and teaches them to take care of themselves.
In addition to the known benefits to wellbeing that physical activity and getting fresh air have, Little Puffin’s support children to:
• Build self-esteem and confidence
• Co-operate and communicate with their peers
• Understand the importance of taking care of the environment
• Nurture empathy and a sense of connection to nature
• Be inspired by the world around them
• Build a positive attitude to learning and motivation
I would be very happy to speak to any potential parents and would welcome anyone who is interested in their child joining Little Puffins to come and meet me at the setting to see what I offer.

My Experience
I have been working for various families in London as a nanny for a number of years . I looked after 3 lovely children aged between 6 and 12 and worked full time for them and did some babysitting for a various families also in London. I then got married and went on to have my own children. My girls who are now 9 and 12 and one go to Preston Primary school wile the eldest is in Letchworth, so I have decided that after 3 years working in a outdoor nursery it is time for me to start on my own.

I also am soon to finish my Home-based Childcare course.
