My Experience
My journey in childcare began in 2019 when I worked as an au pair for two boys, aged 2 and 4, from January to July. This experience ignited my love for childcare, and I soon transitioned into a full-time sole-charge nanny role, caring for three children, including two boys aged 6 and 7, and a baby girl during her first seven months of life. During this time, I was also completing practical hours in an Early Years setting as part of my Early Years Practitioner Level 2 diploma, which I obtained in March 2020. From May 2020 I began caring for two younger children, aged 2 and 3 years old, for a wonderful family I continue to support as a babysitter when needed, covering usual nursery duties.
In addition to nannying, I have experience working with children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). From June to September 2020, I served as a SEN carer for an 18-year-old girl with ASD and worked as a Lead Learning Assistant at a SEND school in Brent from September 2020 to October 2022. My time in the SEND setting strengthened my ability to support children with diverse needs, ensuring that each child feels valued and supported.
Most recently, I worked in a nursery from November 2022 to September 2024 as an Early Years Practitioner. I had the opportunity to work across different age groups, primarily focusing on toddlers and preschoolers. In this role, I planned activities that were developmentally appropriate, tailored to the individual needs of each child, and aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. I believe in the power of learning through play and strive to create fun, engaging, and educational experiences that promote children's growth and development in a nurturing environment.
My experience spans working with babies, toddlers, and preschoolers, and I understand the importance of adapting to their unique needs at each developmental stage. I am also currently completing my Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education, which further enhances my knowledge and expertise in this field.
