About Me
Welcome to Sparkling Steps Childcare!
I am an Ofsted registered full time childminder on the early years and childcare register and work with my assistant. We deliver the EYFS Curriculum in a safe stimulating play environment. I have a range of qualifications including Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding children, Food hygiene. I live in Blackfen in Sidcup area (Holbeach Gardens) and am walk-able distance to Our Lady Of The Rosary Catholic Primary School and Days Lane Primary School.
I can offer flexible hours for parents that work different shift patterns each day.
The Services I provide include:
-Schools drop off and pick-ups
-All inclusive day care at rates with breakfast, two snacks, lunch and dinner included or hourly rates
-Tax Free payments accepted
I provide children in my care with stimulating learning opportunities that reflect their age and stage of development through indoor play, garden play and everyday experiences to give them the best possible start in their early years. I understand that each child is an individual and treat them with care, empathy and respect and promote this all inclusive culture within my setting. The set up of our home encourages children to learn through play, medium sized garden and outings. The children have opportunities to go on outings including educational visits, toddler groups, parks and local libraries.
I welcome every child and have various shared policies within my setting to protect everyone. I know how important but difficult it is to find reliable and quality childcare for your children and I am here to help you for your childcare needs. I aim to provide a setting that both children and parents will enjoy. I have one child aged two and she will be present at the setting some days during the week. I do not look after many children at the same time, which enables me to cater to every child’s individual needs.

Our two sons, age 3 & 6 have both been attending Hazels setting for about a year now after our last one kept letting us down.
Hazel is amazing, she drops and picks up my 6 year old from school and has my 3 year old all day. My son had a hard time settling in when he first started especially when his older brother left to go to school, however, Hazel did everything she can to help him settle and always keeps us updated during the day. My son now loves going and is always talking about hazel and the other children. She provides a huge range of activities and outings to the local library and soft play.
I am so happy we found her and can't thank her enough for everything she had done for our boys.

My son has been with Sparkling Steps for almost a year now and he loves it.
Hazel provides a vast range of activities for my son and the other children, of which she provides updates throughout the day. My son has learnt so much thanks to Hazel.
My husband and I are shift workers and require flexible childcare, Hazel provides this. We are grateful to have found her and we would highly recommend her.

Our four year old attended Sparkling Steps for two mornings a week and we couldn't be happier with the care she received. Hazel planned varied and fun activities whilst working with us to get her ready for school. I enjoyed receiving photos and a daily report to show the activities enjoyed throughout the morning. Communication was always good and Hazel's setting is excellent for encouraging play and creativity. We're very happy that our son will be joining Sparkling Steps in the new year. We are so pleased that you chose us to care for your daughter and we are looking forward to when your son joins us!
I have been extremely happy with the care my daughter Elza has received, and the great progress she has made whilst in Sparkling Steps care. Hazel’s home is always welcoming, clean and well organised and Elza has great fun playing with all the toys available and with the other children in their care.
Hazel and her assistant provides a wide, fun range of activities including plenty of outdoor play.
I received daily photos and a complete diary detailing what Elza has done each day. From this I have a complete picture of her whole day including what she has eaten, how long she has slept and all her activities. This helps me to feel involved with her care and that I can talk to her about her day.
All in all I am thoroughly happy with the level of care Elza received and I’m certain that being in such a positive and happy environment is helped her to develop into a confident and self assured little girl.
I would absolutely recommend Sparkling Steps great and reliable childminder.

We are so pleased that you chose us to care for your little girl and we are always happy to see you again in the future.
Hazel looked after my two year old son two days a week, she is very caring, trustworthy and has a professional manner. My son really enjoyed his time at her setting and always came home happy. Hazel planned fun activities for him, gave him healthy lunches, and kept us up to date throughout the day with what he was doing. I highly recommend Hazel for anyone’s childcare needs.
