I am a very patient, compassionate, and fun person, with a lot of experience with children at primary school age in both domestic and educational settings. My academic background as an educator has also contributed to my work (both professional and voluntary) assisting children with their schooling, including private tutoring and working as a primary teaching assistant (specialising in English). I particularly love arts and crafts, and really enjoy any kind of creative play with children!
I have years of experience working as a nanny for children from as young as 2-years-old, all the way up to 12-year-olds, with up to six children in my care at any one time. I am very good at juggling and am very well-organised, which I like to bring with me to my work with children. The roles I have taken on have varied from being very hands-on in helping families with their full day-to-day domestic duties, to effectively being an ad hoc 'helping hand' when the school mornings are hectic, and everything in-between.
I would only be able to support a family part time to compliment my 'day job' running a small, non-profit based in Reading working with the homeless community. I have the benefit of largely being able to choose my own hours, so can be very flexible in working around a family's schedule. I would be happy to support a family anywhere close to where I live (Farnborough), all the way over towards Reading.
I am a step-parent to my fiancé's 9 year-old boy. Although not essential, it would be lovely to find a job that can fit naturally into school runs locally to us! I also do some voluntary work as a governor for my local primary school, and would need to be able to be flexible for 1-2 evening meetings a month. I have a full UK driving licence and a recent DBS certificate.
My Experience
I worked in a primary school in Oxford in 2016-2017, having done some previous work in academic outreach for primary schools. I then briefly worked abroad teaching English as a foreign language to children (3-7 year olds) for classroom sizes of 20. I continued with some ad hoc, private Maths and English tutoring from 2018.
I began working privately for families offering housekeeping and childcare support between 2017-2021 during my time as a student at Reading University. I then went on to launched my own charity soon after the pandemic struck during the end of my final year. I loved working with families, and am completely familiar with the need to be flexible and adaptable to last-minute needs!
My Qualifications
I have an up-to-date DBS and take part in regular child safeguarding training as part of my school role. I have been trained in paediatric first aid by St Johns Ambulance.
My Availability
I am very flexible with my current work, being able to generally be as flexible as necessary, but would not like to exceed more than 2-3 days a week on average (I would be able to do less/more on occasion if needed, such as during the school holidays). I have not included weekend work in my schedule, but am very happy to help on the occasional weekends if needed.

My Fees
- Babysitting from £14.00 per hour
- Nannying from £14.00 per hour (net)
My ideal scenario would be a fixed weekly schedule, with a salary account for things like additional time over school holidays and to have payroll established by the family. I have, however, also worked hour-by-hour and am happy to have a conversation about what suits us both best!
