About Me
I have always enjoyed working with children and from a young age I have baby-sat, taught and entertained children during days out. This continues to be a passion of mine and I consider myself to be a kind, caring and affectionate individual who creates and adapts lessons based on the needs of the child. I have taught a wide range of children ranging from 3-16 years old and have enjoyed developing relationships with each individual.
My Experience
I have over 10 years of teaching experience and currently work at a special needs school in Reading with children who have EHCP's. My experience within additional needs ranges from Autism to cerebral palsy, verbal and also non-verbal. I have also worked with children who have behavioural difficulties and a diagnosis within the social, emotional and mental health category, as well as in mainstream schools. I have also taught English as a foreign language for a year in a French primary school in France.
My Qualifications
Bachelor of Primary Education (BEd) from the University of Winchester.
SEND Diploma
SEND experience - trauma training, therapeutic thinking, Team Teach trained, Makaton (Levels 1-4), PECS training as well as supporting individuals with specific diagnoses such as PICA or Polydipsia.
Full driving license and my own car
My Availability
As I am working as a teacher during the day, I am available after school most days (4pm onwards) and I am available most evenings. At weekends I am available in the mornings until mid-afternoon (roughly 2pm).
