About Me
Hi, my name is Michelle I am a professional, Ofsted Registered Childminder. Currently providing care within the Wibsey and surrounding areas. School Pickups from St Paul's Primary School and potentially St Winefrids Catholic Primary - providing times and days are available.
We have a lovely family home near Harbour Road, close to Wibsey Park. I aim to provide a welcoming and loving environment. In our home we enjoy lots of messy play, baking and crafts. We regularly attend local toddler groups, parks and soft play areas and other day trips including Zoos, Museums, Eureka and many more.
I believe in good education and promote an ethos that learning is fun. I encourage early reading and writing skills. I provide other activities such as singing time, music and movements, reading and story times, water play, outside adventures and many more that help meet EYFS standards and the national framework.
We are lucky enough to have our home close to Wibsey park, a beautiful park with easy access where children can play and explore. We also make regular trips to the local library and enjoy choosing and reading new books together.
Children have access to the whole ground floor of my house wc, family living room and kitchen. Our indoor playroom is well equipped with a wonderful selection of age-appropriate toys and resources, all easily accessible for children to self-select. The room is bright and light with plenty of space. I regularly change the resources around depending on planning children’s interests. We have a large outdoor play area with slides, swings and climbing frame. We have a mud kitchen, water play and various other outside activities.
I can provide 2/3 & 4 year funding.
My Experience
I trained and then registered as an Ofsted Childminder in December 2019.
I have completed many training courses on Children's Development, Safeguarding and Paediatric First Aid. I am always looking to enhance my learning and continually seek out new training and learning opportunities.
I have looked after a wide range of Children from 14 months to 11 years. As well as my own daughter and Step daughter.
Parent/Child relationships are extremely important to me. I will do all I can to help you and your little one feel comfortable and settled with me. I place an emphasis on natural and gentle parenting techniques and I am experienced in baby wearing, baby-led weaning, and all things baby-led and natural.
My passion is to see each child as a unique individual; my aim is to provide a child led learning experience, building on what they already know and supporting their growth and development in a positive way.

7:30am - 5:30pm Monday to Friday,
PLEASE NOTE at the moment, due to a lack of availability, I am unable to provide any spaces for day time care.

I didn't know what I was looking for until I found Shell!
My son has been going to Shell's a couple of days a week for almost a year and a half now. When he started (at just over a year old), he struggled a LOT with separation anxiety - a mixture of his natural temperament and having been a baby during COVID. Shell was SO patient, gentle and loving with him, and though it took a while for him to settle, I firmly believe if she couldn't have settled him then no one could! She respects and supports his needs and emotions completely, and gives him independence in appropriate ways. He now absolutely loves going and gets involved in everything! And based on the pictures and stories, he gets up to plenty of different activities! He is ALWAYS smiling or giggling when I come to pick him up and see him through the window.
Shell has such a joyful personality, a lovely spacious home and I can't imagine using anyone else!
