About Me
I am a rated OUTSTANDING (September 2022) Ofsted Registered Childminder in East Finchley, N2. I live with my husband and 3 children, our affectionate cat Lily and our 2 guinea pigs. After a long career in law I had my third child and decided to follow my passion to care for children. Nothing inspires me more and brings me greater happiness than working with children. I am very energetic and outdoorsy, no matter the weather and love jumping in muddy puddles! I have two playrooms, huge amounts of toys and a large garden equipped with a trampoline, slide, Wendy house, sandpit and a gardening patch where we grow our own vegetables. Cooking is a passion of mine and I believe it is important to introduce children to a wide range of textures and flavours. I usually do both a healthy cooked lunch and dinner and produce a monthly menu with vegetarian options which is adaptable according to parents wishes. I work closely with parents, communicating with them on a daily basis, to provide the best possible setting and options for each individual child. I also love doing arts and crafts with the kids and letting our imaginations go wild. I am a strong believer in learning through play and fun. My setting is safe, cosy and full of laughter.
My Experience
Along with raising my own children I have spent 8 years teaching Sunday School for children ages 0-11 years. I volunteered in Holy Trinity School nursery and have been the Early Years Governor there for the past 4 years. I have experience from new-born till teenage years including looking after twins.
My Qualifications
I have Childcare (Level 3) and Neuroscience in the Early Years (Level 2) qualifications. I also have a first aid qualification which I renew every 2-3 years and my Food Hygiene Certificate. I have numerous safeguarding qualifications which I update regularly. I am the Safeguarding Officer for Holy Trinity Church and the Chair of Curriculum Committee Governor for Holy Trinity School. I am currently training part time to be a Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist. I also attend frequent training in all aspects of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
My Availability
I am available Monday - Friday from 7.30am - 6.30pm. I run a term time contract but I also work all holidays except I do not work the month of August. I do pick ups and drop offs from Holy Trinity School N2 and Martin's School N2.

Tam is absolutely wonderful. I have only good things to say about her. She looked after our son from when he was 7.5 months until he was a year old. We started with a couple of mornings a week, and Tam eventually looked after him for 3 full days a week. He absolutely loved his time with her - got involved with all sorts of creative activities, and was treated as part of the family. Tam is so caring, helpful and loving. It made me feel so safe leaving our baby with her, and her wonderful family. She'd send regular updates, and was so considerate to his needs. Couldn't ask for a better childminder. We were very sad to say goodbye!

Tam looked after our daughter a few days a week from when she was 11 months old. We felt instantly at ease and trusted Tam implicitly when we met. She is warm, caring and kind and clearly extremely professional. Our daughter absolutely loved her time at Tam's (and still loves her occasional days). Tam's house is welcoming and cosy and feels like a real home away from home (and her own children are so great!). She also takes them on trips to the park, library, soft play and more. It is clear that all the children in her care feel safe and loved and have a wonderful time. Tam built a real connection with our daughter and it really helped me going back to work knwoing that she was so happy and cared for. Thank you Tam!

It was the first time that we left our little girl with a childminder, and even if the experience only lasted 2 months before we left London, it was just a very beautiful experience for both our daughter and for us. Tam is very flexible, always smiling and motivated to go out with the children so that they can discover new environments (park, library or playground). Tam is also a wonderful childminder, very caring and warm as well as her family. Our daughter very quickly felt comfortable with her, her children and her husband and also the other children she looked after. She has a very great communication, she send us a lot of pictures or text to keep us informed during the day. Just a big thank you to you for taking care of our daughter and we recommend you to all families in East Finchley.

Tam helps us taking care of our 2 daughters approximately 2 times a week and we feel very lucky we found her!
She clearly has a natural talent for taking care of young children and provides a fun, loving and nurturing environment for them.
Our girls really love going to Tam's house and I can see the benefits as it clearly is an enriching experience for them with all the activities and the lovely food! She's simply wonderful, we strongly recommend her!

I must say, someone that had never relied on a childminder before, my anxiety levels were through the roof when the decision to return to work came up and needed someone to look after the children. My youngest can be very clingy with me, and that alone was a big concern.
From the moment we met Tam and her family, I felt an instant ease, and calm. She made us feel very welcome.
Tam is very flexible, and feel nothing is too much for her, always willing to go the extra mile regardless of whether that’s changing your workdays due to the everlasting Covid saga, or changing meals around at dinner time to suit my fussy 6 year old.
Genuinely a Fun, loving person who just adores children!
Incredibly lucky to have found Tam on here and cannot thank her enough for helping me and my family muddle through.
I would highly recommend.

The first time I ever left my daughter in childcare was with Tam when she was 2 and 1/2 and I never worried about her for a second. Much more peace of mind than leaving her with family! As an ex-lawyer Tam is very professional with contacts, payment etc.. She also has a very homely environment in her house with just a few other children there at any one time (and pets!). Lots of energy, time and effort put into fun and creative activities for the little ones. When I came to pick Bianca up I often heard them singing and dancing to Frozen through the door. She also took them out on trips to the park so they weren't just stuck at home all day. I didn't have to worry about snacks or meals and she was flexible with days/timings when necessary. Bianca also loved playing with her son and two daughters and it was a bit like she had a second family round at Tam's house! Highly recommended childminder for babies and toddlers.

Tam has looked after my son for almost a year now. I feel so incredibly lucky to have found her because she has been the perfect person to care for my boy. She adores children and she runs her house and her life centred on her own children and those she cares for.
Getting my son settled in with Tam was a daunting process for me. Tam made it as easy as possible, working with me to form a settling in plan. The process of settling in went smoother than I could have imagined. Unsurprisingly there were some tears in the early days when I said goodbye. But Tam was very good about sending me updates so I would know when he was settled and could feel calm. My son grew more and more fond of Tam extremely quickly. I knew how wonderful she had been with him when within a week or two he started actively going to her for a hug if we passed in the street. He looks forward to going to Tam’s and asks to go there when it is not his days to go! I know this is because of the love and care she shows him, but also because of the range of activities she does with him. From playing with the family pets, going to the park, playing in the sandpit and on the trampoline, to doing arts and crafts, reading, counting, singing, dancing and playing with lots of different toys, he is never bored! He has so much fun and has learnt so much while being with Tam.
Tam is excellent at communicating with me and my husband. At the beginning we made a plan we were all happy with for practical things like how he would be put down for a nap and what time he would eat. As he has got older, and things have changed, she has discussed this with us to make sure we both know what each other are doing. If she notices any chances, for example his eating, she will tell us and we will share our approaches so we can keep on the same page. She writes extremely thorough reviews which show us just how much she knows and understands our little boy, and we get messages in the week with pictures and little videos of what he has been up to.
I can most confidently recommend Tam. My husband and I feel most fortunate that our son has a home away from home when he is with her, and we trust her completely.

Tamarin is a brilliant childminder. My twin girls love going to her place. Tam and her family make them feel part of the family - they are all are really lovely and kind. Tam couldn’t do more to make sure they are entertained and happy and they always leave chatting away about the great time they’ve had, and usually with some arts and crafts they have made there. Tam has also been very understanding and flexible with our changing needs due to lockdown etc. She’s also a great communicator and I feel very happy and comfortable leaving them in her more than capable hands. I couldn’t recommend her highly enough!
