About Us

Cliff House Nursery School is a detached, spacious property set in extensive, fully
enclosed gardens. Established in 1990, the nursery offers: excellent provision; amazing indoor & outdoor play; highly qualified caring staff; a fun curriculum of rich play & learning opportunities and, most importantly, a safe, nurturing environment where your child will feel happy, secure and cherished.

Outdoors at Cliff House your child can choose to play safely on our all weather safety surfacing playground. Equipped with Pirate Ship, sandpit, racing track, swings, herb garden and much more, our playground is fantastic fun all year round! Alternatively, your child may want to venture further into our large organic garden, where the children can explore the Wooden Fort, Summer House, Jungle Den, and much more or simply run, skip, hop, jump and kick a ball about on our large lawn.

Indoors the children are divided into three age bands: 0—2 years 2—3 years 3—4 years Each age group has their own area of the nursery, specifically designed and equipped to meet their needs. The children are supported by their key workers who are experienced, qualified nursery nurses.

As with outdoor play, the children have the choice of a very wide range of toys, resources, craft materials and activities. Through play, each child is encouraged to try new activities, build friendships, be creative, play co-cooperatively, develop independence and express themselves with confidence.

The Baby & Toddler unit at Cliff House has been created with a great deal of careful thought & consideration — the health & safety of the children trusted to our care being the most important criteria. The result is a safe, welcoming, fantastically equipped and cheerful environment where your child will feel cherished. He or she will be cared for by qualified nursery nurses who possess the special skills and temperament required when working with very young children & babies.

Our under 2’s have an area of the playground exclusively for them! Covered in ‘Saferturf’ playground surfacing, this totally secure play area allows our youngest Children to crawl, toddle and wobble in safety and, as they find their feet, explore the sandpit or whiz around on the sit & ride toys.

Whilst at nursery, Cliff House provides children under 24 months of age with best quality nappies and wipes at NO EXTRA COST to you. Children age 2 years and over are provided with baby wipes at no extra cost to you. All solid foods and drinking milk (apart from formula) is supplied by the nursery kitchen, unless you wish to make alternative arrangements. Our under 2’s enjoy wholesome meals which are packed with fresh fruit and vegetables and are age appropriate.

Cliff House is open Mon to Fri, 51 weeks per year (closing for 1 week over the Xmas/New Year break)
8 am to 6 pm Full Day
8 am to 1 pm Morning, including 2 course lunch and breakfast
1 pm to 6 pm afternoon, including afternoon snack
