My daughter started at bright butterflies when she was just 10 months old, and stayed with her until she was over 2 years old. I can honestly say Maz was like a third parent and came to be such an important part of our lives. Incredibly caring, switched on, emotionally intelligent to the children’s needs, reliable and trustworthy. She had such a reassuring structure - would always send the daily food menu which consisted of healthy, good food, the day would often then revolve around a theme e.g. if it was autumn, they would go for an autumn walk, collect leaves, do arts and crafts with them, read books about autumn and sing songs that related to it - creating a healthy, stimulating pattern to the day, with a combination of activities. Maz also really thought about different toys and development activities depending on the age and personality of the child - she really thought of everything and we felt our daughter had such great access to so many different types of play and activities.
The most important thing was how our daughter behaved - she would run in and give Maz the biggest hug when she arrived and would often cry when it came to home time(!) only now she is at a nursery and is not that keen that I realise how truly special Maz was. I can’t recommend highly enough, the feeling that your child wouldn’t want be anywhere else but here was priceless.

We were recommended Maz by a trusted friend. Our baby had just turned 1 and we were nervous about returning to work. Maz made this difficult process so smooth. She made us feel completely at ease, as she is highly trained in this area, was very thorough and clear in her communication with parents and extremely organised at all times. But more importantly she was warm, kind and loving to our child. He would jump into her arms in the mornings. She treated all the kids with patience and compassion and created an environment which was joyful and homely, exciting and educational. Details in particular which we appreciated included receiving a detailed menu each morning of healthy homemade meals, photo updates and a text summary of what he got up to that day. Her own children were also particularly lovely to our baby and we knew he was part of something special. We have since had to leave London and miss Maz dearly. Nothing has compared to her care since. Maz has been an absolutely brilliant childminder for our son and has cared for him for the past 1.5 years from when he was 16 months. We couldn’t have asked for more and we would have loved to have sent our second son there as well as his first time at a setting, but we’re moving out of London at the end of August. Maz ticks every box for what we are looking for in childcare as she provides an excellent balance of free play, local trips out, plenty of fresh air, adult-let activities both for the group and individually, messy play, crafts, plenty of books, singing and dancing. In addition, she is very knowledgeable about children’s development and has gently guided our son in everything from learning to use scissors, eating competently with cutlery when he was younger and putting his coat on. She is very sensitive to individual children’s needs, ensuring that each child has access to their favourite type of toys while also building on their interest to extend their play into other areas. When our son was starting to speak she lent us story sacks of his favourite book with complimentary toys to extend his vocabulary and interest. She has a wonderful setting with thoughtfully curated toys and an outside space complete with mud kitchen. The food is excellent - always home cooked and healthy. Each day we receive a summary of what our son has been up to, what he has enjoyed and his mood, with lots of lovely photos. Maz always makes time at the beginning and end of the day for a chat so we can discuss anything extra as well, so we’ve always felt we’ve known exactly what our son is up to and how he is each day. She is extremely knowledgeable and I often ask her for advice, but she is always open to our suggestions, so it’s a real collaboration, which I’ve really valued. Maz really goes above and beyond, including spending time doing a home visit so she could see how our son played and what he was like at home before he settled in. I couldn’t recommend Maz highly enough and we will be very sad to leave. As another parent said to us when we were getting Maz's references - bite her hand off for a place!

We are so happy that we found Maz! Bright Butterflies was our little boys first childcare setting, and he stayed with Maz for over a year. His and our experience with Maz was purely positive. He was cared for so well I never for a second worried about him and he loved being there. The set up is amazing, almost like a mini nursery- there are an abundance of toys, a lovely outdoor space and lots of interactive, developmental activities. It also feels very homely and welcoming. Our son came on in leaps and bounds throughout his time with Maz, she also helped was a great help with things that were new to us, like potty training! Maz always takes care to find out about your child, their likes and dislikes, how they are feeling on that particular day, and the communication from her side is very good. She also took care to cater for my son who is a rather fussy eater and a vegetarian, so it’s not easy! She always managed to have a variety of meals for him.
I can’t recommend Maz enough!

Maz looked after our baby from the age of one until he was two and he flourished under her care. Maz is super caring and encourages learning and play, we’re so glad he was with her for his first childcare experience. His confidence and skills have grown so much and he’s now ready for a busier nursery experience. Everything was always so clean and well equipped, her garden had so many fun play stations. Cam’s diet there was varied and always sounded delicious. We would have stayed with Maz longer but moved house!
