About Me
Hi there! My name is Zoe. I am a qualified teacher specialising in English and Drama (particularly in the SEND field). I have experience teaching on the Primary and Secondary National Curriculum with strong experience working with young people at primary level in recent years.
I have experience in tutoring a range of levels from Reception all the way to GCSE level in English. I also have experience in tutoring primary Maths. I have designed many of my own resources in the past and think it is really important to recognise the individual needs of the student and the ways they learn best in order to tutor them effectively. My communication skills are strong and I also have experience in using a range of communication aids including Makaton and PECS communication.
I also have a lot of experience in children's entertainment and have worked as a freelance performer for almost a decade alongside teaching.
I am available to help with tutoring in evenings, weekends and in the school holidays. I look forward to hearing from you!
My Experience
I currently work at a school for students with SEND. I teach secondary students mostly using the primary curriculum. I previously worked as an LSA in SEND and Primary schools in and around London where I lived for 4 years.
My training in education and child welfare is extensive and I have up to date safeguarding training. I also have a particular interest in music and attend regular training around this area as the Performing Arts lead in my current role. I write and direct whole school productions and work with a range of ability levels.
My Qualifications
I have a 1st class degree in Drama with Media Studies.
Trained as an English and Drama teacher (graded 'Excellent')
I regularly undertake safeguarding training.
Trained in Level 1 and 2 Makaton.
Fully DBS checked.
