About Me

I have 15 years of experience working with children of various ages both within a school setting and a home setting. This involves experience working in schools and as a live in nanny. I am, by nature, a very nurturing, reliable and trustworthy individual and I feel very comfortable supervising children and making sure they are safe. I am able to talk to children in an appropriate manner and maintain my own professional approach to ensure they feel safe.

My Experience

Since September 2021, I have been nannying for a lovely family of 4 children, aged 6, 4, 16 months and now the family have recently had a new baby who is 6 months. I pick them up from school, take them to and from activities, cook and bath them and just generally look after the children’s needs. I have really enjoyed my time with the family so far.

From September 2019-2022 I was nannying for little boy (who was 4 when I started, and has just turned 6 now) they also had a puppy who I looked after and walked daily. I pick up the boy from school and play with him, cook for him, and look after his general needs. Once or twice a week I take him to after school activities such as Tennis and Beavers. I throughly enjoy looking after him and feel as though we have bonded really well.

St Michaels Primary School (Sherpa Kids)
Within my current role as after school play worker at St Michaels, I work with up to 45 children. It is essential that I am able to effectively organise and arrange activities for the children. This often requires a resourceful method working depending on the children I am working with. Some children require more encouraging than others do and I am able to identify these children by observing and getting to know their likes and dislikes. This requires me as a team member to be organised in my planning. I become familiar with which children are attending on which days and I accommodate accordingly.

St Georges RC primary school
I currently work as a play leader as part of the breakfast club and lunchtime team, this involves supervising, preparing breakfast and activities for them. My primary objective when working with children is to ensure their safety and wellbeing. It is important that they have fun and enjoy the environment in which they are in. When preparing their snacks, I make sure I know which children have food intolerances and/or dietary requirements to avoid any potentially dangerous situations. I am first aid trained and am always on standby in the event of an emergency. I am also certified in food hygiene.

Before having my own children, I have had experience working as a live in nanny to children of various ages from babies to 11+ year olds. My responsibilities during this time involved school runs to and from school, providing meals, activities and overall ensuring their wellbeing. This shows my knowledge of children’s needs and my ability to be a trustworthy individual.
