My Experience

Upon completing my level 3 diploma in childcare and education, I became a team leader of a 9 place baby unit in a nursery for 2 years.
I managed my own staff within the room and also mentored students working towards childcare qualifications such as, NVQ, BTECH and DCE.
I was then offered a sole charge nannying position for two boys, 9months and 4. My duties were normal nanny responsibilities, school/activity runs, preparing meals, laundry etc. I had a 2 year contract with the family as they wanted the youngest child to attend nursery when he was 3. I thoroughly enjoyed looking after two energetic and bubbly boys!
I found nannying extremely fulfilling and was offered a short term position to help a mother recover from surgery in Kingston, London. The family ended up extending my contract and I stayed with them for nearly 2 years. The children were 6 months and 2 years when I started. Unfortunately the traveling proved too much for me, so I relocated back to Sussex.
Meeting another family, I was then offered an opportunity to nanny 3 boys 3 days a week aged 3, 8 and 9. This position was temporary for 5 weeks while both Mum and Dad worked away, however, once again I was lucky enough to be asked to stay on and I was with them for 2 years.
I then went on to nanny on a Tuesday and Wednesday, for two little boys, 1 and 4 in Newick. On Thursday and Friday I worked in Brighton, looking after twin boys of 9 months. Both positions were temporary for a year, until I started my permanent position of three days a week (tue,wed,thur) for two little boys 6 months and 2, in Nutley. I stayed with this family for over 4 years, until the smallest went to school.
I then got the opportunity to nanny full time for a family with two little girls. Ages at the start of the position were 1 and 2.
I held this position for 4 years and then went on maternity to have my own little boy. I now have two children, Murphy who is 4 and goes to a local school and my little girl Auri who will be two this coming November 2023. She will be in nursery.

I have also done voluntary work for a few months in an orphange in Cambodia, teaching and caring for 2-15 year olds. It was an amazing experience!

• Nannying from £15.00 per hour (gross)
• Babysitting from £15.00 per hour
